He was sick and was misdiagnosed for the first 5 years to then learn it was lime disease, which almost killed him. I believe he just finished getting treatment in Canada doing stem cell treatment. Which saved his life. So, while he was sick for over 10 years, he was still making music.

It took me 8 years but I finally found this gem.

I love the stripped back quality of this. I see all of the comments from people 50’s plus, I think it resonates because Ren has felt the pain, life experience and tiredness that we all feel through life but at a much younger age. Most young pop stars haven’t lived through that yet.

While there are many great musicians from the last 100 years, there are precious few musical geniuses. I'm grateful to have stumbled onto Ren because he is clearly one of the greats!

I didn't find him till recently. He's amazing. I've been getting lost in his music every day since I've discovered him. It's as if he is beyond his time and more relatable than anyone I've ever heard. Absolutely amazing.

"Older folks" are no different than younger folks. We've just been here longer. You will be one of us older folks one day too and hoping like hell someone like REN comes along to make you feel young again. REN makes me feel there is someone I can relate to because I think he has an old soul if there is such a thing. He is so far ahead of most people no matter what age. He certainly has brought this ol' gal (64 this month) a ton of hope and songs I relate to. He knows what it is like to go through severe illness, mental illness and yet keep on going. Dealt with the messed up medical system and so much more. It is his goodness and enormous heart that ALL ages are relating too. NOt to mention insane talent. This man is a hero. You are so right... no matter how... WE LOVE HIM.

Yes, you’re right - probably many things that draw us (the 40 and Over crowd) but at least part of it is a rawness and authenticity that comes through in every single aspect. While I’m not thrilled with most of what the music industry has put out in the past 10 -15 years, I can’t say it’s all inauthentic. I’m sure some of it is. But so much of it is polished and auto-tuned, and while that can be great with the right songs, it seems nearly *everything* gets that treatment lately and the music itself loses something and is worse for it. But Ren’s stuff hits hard on so many levels, it’s unreal.

Came here today because I saw a reaction video on one of his newer songs and I rediscovered Ren all over again. Absolutely phenomenal artist. This song, Depression and Diazepam resonate with me so much I cannot go without shedding a tear every time I hear each one. 🖤🖤🖤

Something I am finding with Ren is that this artist has put the work in. His catalog of songs is huge. I keep finding these gems from 5 or 7 years ago that are amazing. I have a playlist of Ren songs that gets me through 2 hours of work and I am always finding more.

Ok, so to wrap up, the reason I've only listened to _Hi Ren_ and now this one, is because I instinctively feel that I should ..take your music carefully. I started another - I shan't say which, yet - but within the first 10 seconds I could tell I needed to stop. It pounced (and yes your amazing music CAN pounce) on a certain sensibility of mine and I had to jump out. This one sounded 'safe' - and it was a blast :) Love ya bro :)
