They filmed this in a Brighton bar (Bar Valentino). From the beginning of a germ in Ren's magical brain to completion of the video was only 11 days beginning to end, and created over the Xmas break. They only had a few hours to do the shoot on the day as they had to be out of the bar by 3:00 pm as it was opening at 5:00. Ren has released a BTS on his Patreon channel. An outstanding scene in the BTS is Ren sitting on a couch rehearsing lyrics - with a drip in his arm. He is still undergoing almost daily treatment to try and restore his immune system, all while producing quality music. Ren and his small team are legendary. Nice reaction. Thanks

Kai is part of Ren's team. He films the bts for the Patreon . Also obviouslt a wonderful guitar and base player too. The ladies are local Brighton singers brought in special for this. Entire song from conception to performance done in 10 days over Christmas and done in Bar Valentino in Brighton. Do the Nas retake. HALFTIME. DO Seven Sins and Wicked Ways. And MURDERER!!! Seven Sins has been at the top of my playlist since it dropped. Wicked Ways, Sick Boi 2, Loco are great. There are lyric videos for all of them. So glad you are back to Ren - here for it!

Crazy runs and harmonies, filthy bars to remind us that he is also still a cheeky boi, and that voice that’s perfect for Sting/The Police songs. Ren has loads of songs to suit all styles and genres. if you want heavy rap, hunger, illest of our time, seven sins, wicked ways, masochist, sick boi 1 & 2, down on the beat pretty much all of his last album is rap

Can we appreciate how healthy Ren looks in this video.

Some of is best flows are found in songs that aren't really rap songs. Hold On is a great example. Or Penitence. Sounds all slow and sad and then he starts rapping. Lots of his "songs" have rap incorporated into them.

I love watching reactions to this song. The big smiles that inevitably break out...the instant recognition of the Message in a Bottle guitar riff. It does not get old.

Ren is impressive in whichever style he’s singing. So great with backup and only guitars. It’s good to know what else he does. I’m not much into rap, but you know I’ll check it out. Hope you had a good weekend! 🎶 Cyd

You seemed to miss that Ren was singing, incredibly, over the top of the backing singers. They were great but... Ren's voice!?! Another level! Recorded live, one-take too! :) Definitely do the Nas retake - Halftime. You'll love it! I'd also recommend 'Sick Boi, part 2' off the Sick Boi album. Fantastic track. If you haven't done 'Sick Boi' yet, do that first. Another great track! Let's face it, it Ren, they're always great tracks! :) I'd also recommend 'The Hunger' if you haven't done that yet and 'Seven Sins', the opener from the 'Sick Boi' album. All are rap tracks and all are fire, so hopefully you'll enjoy! :) in fact you'll love the album. It's a rap/hip-hop album. P.S. - If you haven't reacted to 'Losing It' add that to the list. It's not hip-hop but it's most definitely rap and it's mightily impressive! :)

If you look for it Ren released a 'short' of all the rehearsals to get it right. Worth a find

I think, besides the reaction in general, the thing I liked most about your reaction to this.... Jeremy actually enjoyed the music more than analyzed the sounds engineering! Don't get it twisted, I do like hearing Jeremy talking about the audio side of things because it opens up a whole new world I know nothing about, but I love seeing him just vibe. Most songs that Ren released leading up to Sick Boi album release are on the album, but several weren't. I'd recommend Wicked Ways, or Uninvited for a different feel of Ren😂

The Big Push is no more.

Definitely need to work your way through Sick Boi album! Many others have suggested my favorite rappity-rap tracks, and I second their emotion. But I'd also really love to hear your audio engineer take on his production choices on some of the crunchier tracks, "Lost All Faith," "Masochist", "Love Music Part 4", "Sick Boi Part 2", and especially "Down On The Beat". Not to mention the vocal layers of "Loco", and the unique-for-Ren style of "Uninvited". 🍟😉 Note that "Lost All Faith" and "Masochist", like the original "Sick Boi", are built on commercially available beats, rather than his own custom-from-the-ground-up tracks. But he's still tweaked and added his own touches, and there's a lot of fascinating stuff going on in the vocal production! (I would personally actually enjoy seeing an engineer's analysis/breakdown of any of Ren's tracks that you previously reacted to, if you have additional non-first-listen insights on after having them on your playlist for a few months. 😃 Only if that's something you'd enjoy, of course!)
