We had so much fun making the video, a little too much ha ha, our roomate was our audience and he was dying of laughter the entire time. You paused at one point for nearly 3 minutes, discussing the origins of guillotines, and that was just way too long of an interruption, it completely ruined the flow of the performance and your reaction. The goofing around in that section was excessive and honestly, not amusing. I almost gave this reaction a Dislike because of it, but I gave it a Like because I'm a big Ren fan. Being a little goofy is okay, but it should be infrequent and in much smaller doses.

Ren is definitely the coolest chameleon to ever exist in the world of music. Really enjoying your reactions guys! ❤‍🔥

The trouble with Sam is, he just does the same thing, over and over and over again, like a one trick pony. I get bored of it pretty quickly, tbh. He's also frequently flat or off-key. Yey I've noticed that most people are overly impressed by the ability to sing in a high key, to the exclusion of every other vocal consideration. Personally, I think Ren's vocals are on a whole other level to Sam's, yet judging by comments, I'm very obviously in a minority. :)

Whenever you see "retake" in one of Ren's titles, he has taken the music from another artist's song and done his own lyrics over it.

If you're wanting some more singing Ren I'd suggest Chalk Outlines (Live) for an emotional vibe or I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop with his band The Big Push for a more happy vibey vibe. talent cannot be measured. Art cannot be measured. There is art that pleases us and art that we don't like. But still is art. You can eat amazing food at a 3 Stars Restaurant made by a famous chef or you can eat at the food truck next corner and you'd still be eating food. There is a bunch of stuff JT can do that Ren cannot (or have not done yet) like Dancing or being on a stage by his own with no instrument to play and still have to entertain.... Don't get me wrong I prefer Ren to JT but I will never say that this artist is more talented than the other. We'd have to define "talent"

I discovered you today (Big Ren fan) and have binged watched your whole Ren series. I love how you manage to pick up on things I haven’t, despite me having listened to some of these songs hundreds of times. You also seem to have some amazing interpretations of the music. I would love to hear you react to Dominoes though, it’s on of his older songs and a little more direct with the lyrics but it’s a big message about society and I find it really powerful to listen to.

Great (and funny) reaction! Loved the “blooper reel” at the end. Ren definitely hit some JT-ish high vocals in this. But I truly believe he was channeling Prince in the Back on 74 song. Not so much the radio-Prince songs, but more of his soul/gospel stuff. The way Ren can change his pitch, alter his voice, go high to low and everywhere in between, add/subtract vibrato, emanate soulful and smoky tones, and sing with his whole face… yeah definite and absolute Prince vibes. How he can channel so many iconic singers (Prince, Sting, Marley, etc…) and yet still sound so phenomenally unique and refreshingly one of a kind - just MIND BOGGLING!!!

Yup - riff is indeed the little section of music, whereas rift is the split between two sections of land, or between two people emotionally.

Love the throw-in of the guitar lick from "Message in a Bottle" throughout the "Back on 74" cover. It really does work well. The Jungle original retake, with that being such a new song by Jungle. You just said what aboyt The Police riff as i was typing as i watched😊 his added bars to this cover of Back on 74 are very cheeky. But he also has major Sting vocals when that part comes in. His singing has always been great, but it is getting even better. Yes "wax strip grooves, don't stay still when, I make my move" but also wax grooves on a LP. Too cheeky.😊 Check out Jungle's original.

Loving the Ren reactions! You guys should def check out “Losing It” by him as well! And btw, we played the MESS out of Guitar Hero!!! No cap, was able to flawless most songs on expert. LOVED doing Through the Fire & Flames on expert too! Those hammer-ons became ingrained in our mind, LoL. But could only honestly pull the whole thing off when playing through with our brother 😂

The original artist for Back on 74 is a contemporary artist named Jungle and the official video is brilliant, a one take dance video. His version honors, musically that song, and near the end of his rap he says "massive like Jungle". Clearly a nod to the original artist.

Ren's Sting/reggae voice never fails to reach through the screen and slap me in the face, even when I know exactly what's coming. Also: I don't know how long it'll take for you two to get to The Big Push on your journey down the rabbit hole (AMAZING band, but it's very valid to not get to them for a bit because there's SO MUCH flippin insane stuff for Ren's solo work... still, the other guys in the band are ALSO incredible so you're missing out if you don't start sampling them soon!) but I think this bar was the same place they filmed their video for "What Kind of Woman Is This."
