I’m not sure of all the songs you’ve done but I’d suggest ‘Penitence’ by Ren/Molly or ‘lonely boy/paint it black’ by the big push any of the versions where you see them out busking you’ll really see Rens fun/mad guitar playing in those where he’s bouncing around like a maniac 😂 you’ve prob done them already but they’re my faves. 😊

This was my second ren video, my first was hi ren and that one helped me at a very darkening time inside myself. This was sooo beautiful and sooo tragic, I can't fully relate, I have struggled with mental issues all my life, I'm 50 now and the only time I ever immersed into a pill was when the depression sooo hard when I was trying to get on disability and honestly I felt pathetic and less human, I was just sooo low inside, and I had never done therapy , nor pills to help, I always fought it alone, sometimes very unsuccessfully, this one time I broke and the doctor offered medication to help sleep and perhaps help with the depression. I'll never forget that only two weeks later my friend couldn't wake me up by banging on my door and it made me sleep but the dreams were worse than my own, never went back to that doctor, tossed the pills away, got denied for disability, disability was for physical reasons btw, not mental , that's the funny part, long story short, had to go back go work to keep going, found strength through anger of the pain and eventually it became something else, it became will to not give up, I remember saying with tears in my eyes, I'm not done yet, and im.still not done. Soo even though it was only a short moment, I get the pills, and I'm rambling on this, I get it, I was on gabopentins for a while, they didn't take the pain away but they made me feel like could do anything through the pain, I tossed those after a couple years, after I got the will, I stand on my own, but I know that desire to feel good, which isn't always good. OK that's it, I'm sorry I left a book in your comments and that really touched you deep, you need a 🤗

Such a human story, my friend. I feel that men, especially have a difficult time being able to tell someone they are hurting. That needs to change. And help is difficult to get, to be honest. But that fighting will that you havel, that is a treasure. You keep that. That is so valuable. That is special. That won’t come from big Pharma. I have no problem with medication. It is needed sometimes. But sometimes it is just an out for doctors to say that they tried. I am proud of you. Very proud. You are a fighter. BTW, do you know that song “ Fighter” by Tom Macdonald? If not, maybe give it a listen and let me know what you think?

I'm sorry you had to relive that again. Emotions suck. I came clean off of ALL big pharma meds and told my doctor to shove it, it has been 4 months. The end result is crying on the smallest things because it reminds you of the past and you are transported back to that situation. About 5 months ago I didn't care and my feelings rolled right over it like it never happened.

Yes, my hair is auburn and in the light is more RED. However, my natural highlights are sprouting more and more white! Lol

When Chinchilla starts to sing she does some involuntary jerking/ticks that often comes with the meds.

This song, How to be Me, and Crush, all hit me soul deep every time I listen to them. I'm very sorry for your loss. Even though all experience some type of loss, it doesn't make those feelings any less valid or any easier to bear. 🙏

Yes, I think the fact that we all have loss of varied kinds, it connects us when a fellow human is hurting because of it. The way they express themselves is perfect. It was painful but I would not change a thing

Love the reaction Deana, the song got me at the same point it did you. Feeling ok but take it just in case life takes you off that cliff again. Living like you have that sword of Damocles hanging waiting to drop on you, knowing that if you do 'take it' the medication can leave you feeling like a shell of yourself, or at the very least not your true self. Even if you're not on medication, faking it, not showing the emotions you have swirling inside you because you 'have to be strong' especially for others around you. Showing that great big smile is something I know all too well. This is I think my favourite of Ren's work so far, though it is close. Ren is a phenomenal lyricist and songwriter and Chinchilla and the way they compliment each other just make this damn near perfect.

@@redheadedneighbor yes it really is, we can all share in what we hear and feel, I find it very interesting to hear other takes/comments on music that moves me. We all relate to many of the same things, while at the same time we pick bits that others miss, which broadens the experience for all of us. I really appreciate your reactions.

@@redheadedneighbor I was a pro skydiver, so worked with both civilian (mostly) but also trained US/Colombian military. I've been from Florida to New York, Georgia to Idaho/Utah and all states in between. I was living in a small town called Rockmart about an hour WNW of Atlanta. I loved it out there, quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately, I was life flighted and returned to the UK for medical care. Im hopefully heading back within the year, but I'll be in a town called Newnan I think.

Don't forget to rewind after pausing. That way you won't miss anything. :) You missed arguably the best line in the song by pausing without rewinding, ironically to comment on what you saw as the best line in the song... :)
