Here is the best part, I moved from Florida to CT and we only have 1 plate there, after 3 years I found today I have 2 license plates 🤣🤣 I noticed suddenly all cars have front attached and googled it, most people said those are 2 thin plates attached mounted together. WOW, now watching this video to avoid drills.

It's crazy how some states are totally ok with no front plate and others will give you a ticket in 30 minutes. Hope you do something similar and don't grill your bumper!

The main problem with magnetic licence plates are the vibrations from not good road surfaces and jolts from potholes. These cause the licence plate to slowly slide out of its position and descend downwards. If the magnets behind the bumper are not strong enough (for example just 10 kg power), it is only a matter of time before it starts to slip from its position. Everything may look good at first day in a video but in time (rain, washing, etc.) things will not be as "ideal" as on the first day. Several and very strong neodymium magnets behind the bumper is the key to keeping the plate in place no matter what.

@@fintansky9369 : I mention that because there are many related videos with just 2-3 magnets and they say ''no it's OK to drive" etc. By experience i say NO, i have magnet plates.

I don't think anyone walks around pulling on the license plate, unless they see you put it on. Luckily for me, I haven't had any issues so far.

Much more efficient to carry a screwdriver if you want to steal license plates.

Will this work for my 2018 Lamborghini Aventador? Or if not, is there an alternative? I don't think it would be possible to open the grill.

Unless you are willing to take off the bumper, I don't think so. There are options where people drill into the bottom of the grill and put a bracket on there that you can slide the license plate bracket in.

Hey I love the work you did and I noticed this was done a few years ago. I am curious of the long term use of this did you find any paint damage or anything to your bumper at all? Great work by the way!! I wish most people in the comments comprehended that it is not for driving just for when it is parked.

That's so cool! I really want to make one of these myself, wonder if I have to skill set to do it. A removable license plate would be perfect on my BMW but it's already got holes :(

You need a revolving number plate with different numbers - like on the James Bond original Aston Martin.... When is the next Z4 maintenance video coming up and what will it be? I was looking at battery upgrades which means registering the new battery and perhaps coding.. Folding roof maintenance and fault finding would be good... Have you changed the 2 salmon coloured roof relays? Thanks

That would be super cool but also very illegal haha. I can do a battery registration video, but I’m not sure if I can register it if it’s used since it’s already registered. I’ll be doing the roof maintenance in a few weeks once the weather is nice. Appreciate you watching!

Absolutely, you'll just have to get the correct bracket and arrange the magnets appropriately.

Wouldn't that just fly off when you hit a bump? Not sure if you're allowed to drive in NJ without the front plate.

I just got it on eBay, but I'm sure they sell them elsewhere as well.

Is it likely to be pulled over JUST for not having a front plate? Or are most tickets just for when you’re parked

I have never been pulled over for not having it on the front, but have gotten a warning for not having it while parked in Chicago. It probably depends on your state.

Will this interfere with front parking sensors?

It will not. It’s the OEM license plate bracket.

That’s not the point. This for parking. I never use it while driving, but if I park on the street in Chicago without I will most likely get a ticket.

If u cannot drive without it police will still pull u over n give u a ticket.

I guess it’s different in different states/countries. I’ve never been stopped for no Licence plate and neither have my friends. You can of course just use stronger magnets and it can be used permanently.
