It goes without saying you're channels are the most entertaining on KZread but your cinematography is OUTSTANDING! From New Zealand, to Africa, Colorado, to just around the tree house.... Your stuff looks better than 99% of anything on television or the interwebs. You have a great eye and it doesn't go in noticed here. This proud subscriber just had to let ya know.

You have that rocky mountain high. I can't help but smile at your excitement and heavy breathing in that altitude. I'm ex-baseball too most of my life, but dealing with that altitude was a whole different thing. I remember one particular day hike up above timberline in the Wyoming Winds I got a headache that lasted a day.The Excedrin just bounced off. If we have time (we usually don't) it is probably better to relax one day before heavy exertion. Anyway I'm a flatlander from more your neck of the woods and just wanted to thank you and OSG for sharing the beauty of mountains. Take care.

It's kind of weird, but exciting, for me to see the reaction of folks who are not used to doing this sort of thing, because I have lived in Idaho for the past 16+ years and have done lots of this. But I am glad that you both have branched out and learned to enjoy the mountains, hiking into the back-country, hunting elk, fishing remote high mountain lakes. I enjoy seeing your reactions to everything, how excited you get at the types of things that I have [probably] started to take for granted. :-) (You are kinda new to fly fishing aren't you? Welcome to the fold).

Hahahha... LFG reminds me of this hotshot firefighter who I worked in the USFS with. He'd stop mid slope to take a self-imposed break, causing others to moan as he stopped the crew's forward momentum who were climbing the steep ridge, trying to reach the fire to fight. --- love these Colorado videos. :) thank you.

Great videos. Wife and I really enjoy them. I grew up in Alamosa fishing and hunting those grounds. One thing to share with you, water in, water out or both is a lake that will probably have trout. The place you tried with the lily pads is what we call a pot hole. The salamander looking things are what we call water dogs. Sorry but those pot holes are mostly marshy stagnant water, get too hot for trout and water doesn't move. Perfect place for water dogs though. They are good for nothing, just live in those pot holes. Walk into the high lakes and there you'll find the gems that they are.

Gosh dang pinnacle of trout fishing I tell you what... I know the googans usually come up here for a steelhead trip this time of year. I could always show ya how it's done but I think for the viewers an Addicted fishing/LFG collabo would be pretty epic!

Western states stock these little mountain lakes both by hiking in and also by dropping fry from airplanes, yes some actually survive. Those salamanders are called water dogs or water puppies where I live. I see you have a Umpqua fly, sweet that is where I come from and the boys from Born and Raised Outdoors.

Some of those lakes are devoid of trout because there is not a creek big enough for spawning connected to them. When scouting on Google Earth or hiking in, look for moving water either coming in or going out. If you don't see flowing water, enjoy the view and head for the next lake.

Hey LFG and OSG, I thought I'd comment here, considering you don't quite have commenting available yet on the Lake Life channel. In regards to using the Dutch Oven. Get yourself a trivet/rack to fit in the bottom, to get the food off the bottom. This helps with convection, and also helps prevent the things like your biscuits/cinnamon rolls from blackening and crisping on the bottom 👍🏻

LFG I give you credit and especially OSG credit for going on your adventure. The scenery is absolutely amazing. Looks like I have to take my wife on a little vacation. Wow what a view! LFG if I can give you some advise it would be don't put your needle nose pliers in your fly box. You can severely deform the contents and have your flies not run true. I've been fly fishing and tying flies for over 20 yrs and can say you picked a great sport to enjoy and at the same time it will make you extremely angry at the same time. Best of luck!! One more thing as you cast don't let your line hit the water each time. Shadow cast multiple times keeping your line in the air until you get out far enough. Also you can use an indicator on your tippett and it will allow you to better see your tippett and fly when a fish takes it.

Also not dragging it up on the beach, letting it flop on the rocks, letting it drop while holding it and keeping out of the water to show the camera. I think we all start out doing this before we learn better fish handling skills. Keep em wet, a quick show for the cam then get em back in the water so they can breath after a hard fight.

Love the fly fishing! Try keeping your line in the air for your false casts instead of slapping it on the water. 10 and 2 o’clock casts. Speed up to a stop( makes sense when you think about it) Might spook a few less fish that way. Also, you might not want to strip a dry fly. Maybe a tiny Twitch here and there.
