The 1987 Milwaukee Brewers season featured a superstar in the making as Paul Molitor ripped off an incredible 39 game hitting streak.
Жүктеу.....

Weird to think of a first ballot Hall of Famer as being 'underrated', but in Molitor's case it really is true. Unquestionably one of the greatest all round players of the last 35 years.

People talk about Pete rose, ty Cobb, even Ichiro..but molitor was one hell of a pure contact hitter. Him and Gwynn were the greater I ever saw play

I have watched Paul work his bat magic since his days with the Brewers; needless to say that I was ecstatic when my home town Blue Jays signed him. To Paul Molitor, the best!

I've been a fan since 1968 and he had the best right handed hitting swing I ever saw! Such a fluid and graceful swing and a great all around player with great speed. If he didn't have all those assorted injuries earlier in his career with about 500 lost games ( he still had over 3,000 hits) he would have been much higher on the all time hitting list!

Bypassing his rookie year of 1978, between 1979 and 1990, Paul Molitor played in 1,415 of a possible 1,887 games. That’s 472 games missed.

Watch Molitor as he greets the winning runner, then immediately runs over to congratulate Rick Manning on his hit. Professionalism. Class. Rare today.

I read where Ted Williams said Molitor's swing was as good as his.

The double he hit to right-center off KC's Danny Jackson to extend the streak the 36 games on Friday August 21 was the moment

I've said before that had he not experienced so many injuries, especially early in his career, he might well have wound up with 4,000 career hits.

I was lucky enough to attend game 37. The drama was over early in the 1st inning that night with a liner to right field. Fun night!
