Same here, hearing the context around that picture for so long left me thinking about the other interviews where Niki explains who he is as a person. With Steffi talking about what happens it shows to me Niki is somebody who totally understood that living for the small things in life always add up to the biggest things. - I'd love to sit here writing about what I think makes him a great man, as far as even a hero.. But really the only way to know how great Niki is, isn't words no, but to watch and listen to the man himself.

unless they are bio-degradable, these balloons kill birds. Should be illegal to release balloons......I don't think Niki would enjoy that...it would annoy him.

Since he left for surgery last year, I've been waiting and looking forward to him to coming back. Hard to believe that he's now gone. We miss you, Niki.

Coming to the Canadian GP next week and will wear my red hat for Mr. Lauda. What a beautiful tribite. I'm sure Mercedes will do more. We can only hope we'll be remembered in such fond ways.

I'm not either.

I'm not an emotional person, and I normally don't feel genuine sadness when an celebrity passes, but for some reason, deaths in this sport always get me. Nearly teared up at the end of this. Cheers to the greatest F1 driver of all time.

Got to know Niki Lauda from rush(2013). Glad that i did. *Race in peace*

Just by watching this, Niki strikes me as someone that didn't care if you were a driver, Toto Wolff, or someone that served him coffee, you were all important, you were all integral to the success of the team, and you were always someone worth treating like a human being. It doesn't seem like a compliment, but to me, it shows the sheer humanity and decency that Niki had, and people like him are rare to come by in the modern day and age. He remains sorely missed.

Niki may have been hard on those on the Petronas team, but he did with the intention of helping them to never stop striving to be better versions of themselves. Always look for ways to do what you do every day better than you did before. For in a team setting, you are not only helping yourself, but helping all those around you become better people. RIP Niki - You will be missed and always loved.

What a wonderful video from a Brackley person to a international brackley based Team,our thoughts are with Niki and everyone who cane into contact with him I can remember skiving from school in the 70's and cycling to practice for the British grand prix, my heroes were all practising but my choice was always Niki,,its a sad day

Such a beautiful remembering. If you have raced, in any series, you know that a race team is a small, tight knit family. You become so close, you laugh together when you win, cry together when you loose. Clearly Niki left a big hole in the team, being there for 7 years, helped start the team with Mercedes. He was the mentor, the dad and also the whip. But he always did it with measure, put an arm around some, giving another a small kick up the backside. But it was done with love, to promote the best in people. His perfectionism and personality was the driving point. I´d wish that I had known Niki as you guys do, because I see there is another side of him, full of love, care and wonderful humour. Thank you Toto an team for this!

I was in the hospital for a long time last summer when he was hospitalized as well and I knew he was one of the greatest fighters of all time and that he would survive it and so would I. As a brazilian motorsports fan since the early 1970`s, I had the great privilege to have seen Niki racing in my country. The first opportunity was at Interlagos, São paulo, 1977 Brazilian GP. The last, at Jacarepaguá, Rio de Janeiro, 1985 Brazilian GP. 1978, 1979, 1982, 1983 and 1984 Brazilians GP`s were the other races that I have seen him racing. Fantastic driver. R.I.P. Niki.

I didn’t know about him up until the relaese of the movie rush...i’ve been following f1 for 6 years only...and that was enough for me to realize what kind of a person he was...a true great of f1 and an amazing person...f1 will never be the same without him...may the heavens be his eternal race track ❤️❤️

Listening to all these wonderful accounts brings home to me the loss of Niki to all of us, however close or remotely connected with him. I came to enjoy F1 when Niki was in his ascendency. It was a pleasure watching and following him. His crash was heart-wrenching as his comebacks including the one with Mclaren, were remarkable. His driving style was from a different and noble era. Never had I once witnessed questionable driving tactics by Niki, something many since his days would do well to emulate. I love the way Niki grew old gracefully yet with all his straight-talking very much intact though now the truly warm and generous nature of the man was to emerge. It's great to know that so many have fond, special and moving memories of him. Farewell Niki. Thanks for the ride.
