I went to Basic Training in Fort Benning, GA. Bravo 2/47 (Platoon Guide AUG2001) and made a bestfriend named Shawn Ivey (my APG). Shawn went to Airborne School with Pat and they became best Airborne friends. I was supposed to watch them graduate, but got in trouble for underage-drinking. I got kicked-out of the Army in DEC2003, but came back in 2007. I ended-up in Iraq, with a guy that was a medic and just-so-happened to be the best friend of Tillman, from a young age and in college, at ASU. You might know Anderson. I can't remember his first name, but he was a cool dude. I now live right by ASU, in Tempe, AZ...

Rene R., here it is. www.zetatalk.com/ning/26ju2010.htm "...An insight into General McChrystal's modus operandi is his handling of the Pat Tillman affair, where he lied to the family and to the public about friendly fire being the cause of Tillman's death. In fact, it was an assassination of Tillman, approved up the line and undoubtedly including approval from McChrystal himself." ------------------------------------------------- www.zetatalk.com/index/zeta390.htm Question: Why was Tillman seen as such a threat? Answer: "Tillman was a prize for the war effort, so very visible in marching off to war, and likely to inspire others to do likewise. When he saw what was actually going on, a failure to hunt down Bin Laden, foot dragging, he then realized other games were afoot. He was talking within his group, his talk getting back up the line to superiors, and the horror of such a notable becoming an antiwar spokesperson loomed. As with embedded reporters, who are shot deliberately, such assassinations are done by a wink and a nod, in response to a complaint or a report. No written record exists for such orders, but they are real just the same, and those passing them down the line confident of being protected. Thus the general in charge is only being reprimanded, perhaps a star removed which he is certain will be returned to him shortly, along with a prize assignment. Tillman was shot in the head under orders from high up the line, to silence him and to make of his death a hero to those wanting to join the war effort. The truth is finally coming out." Do not understand weapons, their usage and their ballistics. People get killed by accident its a dangers job, combat is very confusing, and adrenaline makes details very hazy. Its a very sad thing and to have regiments poster boy killed. Whats more important and sad is a fellow ranger buddy lost his life. A husband and son. Oh and his BROTHER was there on the objective. His brother had to deal with that carry on with the mission, and compose himself as a ranger. (should his brother have been in his same platoon, thats another debate for another day.)

@@nolanfrazier3482 Accidents do happen. But Pat was assassinated. His family knows this. Don't you think he was writing home to his family what he was finding out? Because of him, many joined the Military. If Pat made public what he knew, it would've been a PR disaster for the Military. He joined the many embedded reporters shot in the back for reporting what's really been going on. And cover-up General McChrystal ... got PROMOTED to the highest rank in the U.S. military-four-star general-and PROMOTED to head of Afghanistan, arguably the most sought-after job in the entire U.S. military at the time...how coincidental.

After his first tour he received a loophole to turn in his papers and go back to football but decided to do another tour because they were going to Afghanistan. If he would have lived it might have been a slight Public Relations problem for the war in Iraq, but not Afghanistan.
