Yeah the modes were just a big excuse to make more toys, but they were awesome looking. Especially mega mode for samurai. But I could only imagine if the Rangers actually used these in battle which would have been amazing.

It would be even better if these were the standard for ranger seasons going forward. One thing I like about Kamen Rider more than Sentai is how stylish the costumes can be.

Samurai was my introduction to the power rangers franchise and sadly I haven’t seen every series. I won’t think I will ever get the chance due to so many seasons besides beast morphers, mighty morphin and ninja steel.

The good thing about PR is that you don’t have to watch everything to understand it. I would say just pick the shows you’re most interested in and go with those.

If you want to watch another show then watch dino thunder it is a good season plus its episode 3 shows a montage of all the seasons that came before it and give brife summary of the older show and it could get you excited for the older shows and make you wanna watch them plus it has good characters and has the best red ranger well will you give it shot its you choose

Surprisingly we haven't had Samurai Kamen Rider's yet. Hopefully, it'll happen if Toei decides to make Shinobi a full series.

To be honest, the cockpit modes are kind of pointless. Like, isn't it cheaper to use the sentai footage of the cockpits rather than just shooting new scenes and creating a new cockpit? Plus, it made no sense in the first place. Like, isn't the whole point of Samurai because it's based on Japanese culture? It makes sense that the cockpit would be Japanese themed. Dino Charge is confusing seeing as I don't see what was wrong with the original version. They could easily erase the names of the Sentai names of the megazords and just leave it blank. Ninja Steel...well, I can probably see why they want to alter it seeing as, well, the design of the cockpit in Ninninger is rather odd. Dino Fury is also a confusing one since I don't see what was wrong with the original designs in the sentais.

Dino Fury’s is really weird given how unique the Ryusoulger cockpits were with leds and glass. I’m guess maybe they didn’t want the rangers to be seperate in the Megazord, but beast Morphers had seperate cockpits so idk what the issue was.

Great video on an underrated topic! I was not an observant kid, cause I remembered just having noticed the cockpit suits in samurai were different from the ones on land when we were on the final few episodes, but after that I was wowed. I’d have to say all cockpit modes we got in pr look nice, they may be pointless but they’re a nice addition imo so why not. I especially like gold from samurai. Thanks for the vid Juliocoolio 🙏

Thanks! I also found it kind of weird as a kid how they had different suits from the mecha and ground battles. However, they have some pretty cool designs. My personal favorite is mega mode, since it really updated the Shinkenger suits. I hope whenever the Entwistle projects come out they’ll have suits resembling those.

I will never get used to those lip plates during Mega Mode...

Those lip plates ruined those designs for me. Same goes for Dino Charge painting the silver mouth plates black for Dino SuperDrive.

The mega mode for samurai will always be my favourite cockpit outfits from the neo saban era.

I do really like the Dino charge cockpit forms, but Samurai has a very special place in my heart

Same here, they had a really cool aesthetic with the padding. Dino Superdrive tired to replicate it, but I felt it was a bit overdesigned.

Given Zabyun in Kiramager, I can see why they thought Kyoryu Origami was a shark. But not using the Dino reference was a missed opportunity, especially since Saban loved to call back to MMPR.

My problem with the cockpit mode is that they only do it for a few seconds we never really get to see a proper screen time for them. Imagen SPD only used the Swat Mode for their megazord finishes lol

You know they really dropped the ball on Gold's design for the cockpit considering that it ditches the blue under colour that made him stand out without anything to make it standout as a six ranger design

I love how you described MMPR Revision as "KZread Poops" because that's absolutely what it is LOL

I thought i was the only one that didn't see the green and yellow shogun form.

Out of all of the cockpit modes, my favorite is shogun mode. It gives off a samurai armor feel. It looks like it could be used to destroy any Nighlok even Serrator and master xandred.

I will admit these cockpit modes are pretty nicely designed and somewhat purposeful, they even sorta match the levels of design for the Sentai and remind me of Sentai power up forms

How would you feel if the samurai mega mode became their main suits for the series ?

I think it would be pretty cool. They could play up the whole “next generation” thing by having suits different from their ancestors.

i never thought about pr cockpit modes, but now that i have, my lave has been changed.

To be fair, Figuarts Princess ShinkenRed could be seen as a premium Lauren figure...

Well, if those things are all american made, they've made quite a step since the Green Ranger's Dragon Shield from MMPR. They look awesome and some times better than the plain suits.

These were cool but it was very disappointing how they were only used in the cockpits

The cockpit modes for Dino Supercharge not having the silver mouth plates kind of look a little cursed ngl 🤣 Idk I always liked how the face designs on the Kyoryuger helmets are a nice blend of a black mouth broken up my the silver mouth plate, aside from that the Super DinoDrive modes look cool and the accents on the helmets remind me of Dino Force Brave

What's next? Unadapted Super Sentai seasons that should've been adapting?

I really love every single power ranger season including Dino fury and the up coming power rangers cosmic fury

Honestly I see the cockpit modes as wasted potential. These are ARMORED forms, why couldn't they have been a team power up? Sentai/power rangers haven't had one for some time, and this could have been something power rangers had that sentai didn't.

They would've been so cool as actual power-ups. It reinforces the whole "power" in Power Rangers. The last team-wide upgrade Sentai got was Go Kiramager, and it's just a chestplate.

I haven’t been too fond of the graphic novels. They tend to be way too rushed for the stories they try to tell, which would fit better in mini series. However, I think Boom could really knock it out of the park if given the chance to tweak Megaforce. Like how Clone Wars made sense of the prequel movies. So I’ll definetly make a video on a few ways they could do that.

Lol, I had all the mega mode samurai figures (Sadly Yellow ranger broke and IDK what happened to the pink ranger). Also, I remember my uncle tested how fast the mega blade could unfold when I got it as a young kid and said, "You could hurt someone with this". I still have it after like 10 years

I bought the Mega Mode pink and yellow rangers early this year since I never had them as a kid. I got mine from eBay, but Amazon also has them pretty cheap. And honestly, thank god the Mega Valde is just plastic. If it had metal it’d be a weapon of war 😂

These original weapons and cockpit modes deserve better usage than just inside the Megazord. The Shuriken Armor looks great on Ninninger, but the Lion Fire Bazooka works better with Lion Fire Mode than Super Ninja Master Mode. But I love the Shogun Mode a lot more because it pays respect to the Japanese elements which Samurai tries to bring.

Expect that around next month. There's definitely some interesting things I want to point out with the show.

The cockpit modes were wasted potential Especially in Dino charge since Dino super drive looked the best of them all and Dino charge shot a lot of original fight scenes I can understand why shogun mode was only used once outside the megazord considering how bulky it is so it would’ve been difficult to do fights with a clunky as hell suit, we see this in the final fight when all Jayden does is twirl his sword around But every other cockpit mode could’ve and should have been used outside the megazord, especially since Kyoryu red was the only kyoryuger to have an upgrade

My brother wants to buy the power Rangers ninja steel upgraded suit zord

I liked some of the suits for sure but the main problem I had with them is those suits being stuck in the cockpit only. It just seemed like a waste honestly if your making these and reshooting cockpit scenes why not as well do original finishers on the monster of the day fights too since they do original footage spliced in with sentai footage already and that should've been the case for samurai more so but oh well. If dino fury does have that in the later part of the season or second season I hope they use it outside too.

The Megazord Cockpit Weapons are wasting in Power Rangers. The Megazord Cockpit Weapons will be better if them can inside and outside the Megazord Cockpit.

The Q rex looks different with triple spike energy from Tommy's dragon coin Trent's vest Eric's emblem gaining mega wings. Tensou is a mobile deka. Turbo falcon has Heckyl and Zenowing's dna. Lightning Cruiser and Storm Blaster are Robo Knight's zords not helping while he was evil. Prism rangers made the zeo crystal. Battalion Rangers are Sentinel Knight's protect the Armada's corona aurora from Vrak saying aurora box. Preston's wand was sealed back in time from evil as the wild sword. Professor Cog is Venjix and Crunch merged after the hack in the bio field. 1st mystic rangers used zord energy to make blitz powers. Animaria Royals went into the grid as super sonic powers. Lightning powers has Ripcon's dna. Mike use his suit gem and transdagger tech to make defender rangers. Troy a wind ninja stole the scroll of time to defeat Luthor but went to Legendary Battle. Orion Jason and Kat's son born after countdown left on Andrasia to lure away their family hunter. After Legendary Battle veteran rangers left Earth to fight Draven , Jason hunted that guy losing his coin in space. Tommy held Kat's hand from trauma being used against rangers again. Haley of D Thunder is JJ's mom. Noah's mom left lightspeed. Jake's from reefside moved from his mom as a banker. Emma's mom died from orgs in Turtle Cove. Gia Kai and Kendrix daughter came to earth for her grandparents with Bulk missing Skull. Red Zeo in Legendary Battle is Lauren handling the power from mastering the shiba seal.

I always found the gameplay footage and trailers for Dice-O to be really cool! I especially love the theme song they began using after Gokaiger, though sadly can't find a clean rip of it. I'll definitely look towards discussing that in the future. I also heard Legend Wars is basically a smaller scale Dice-O for smartphones.

While Disney corporate didn't want the show, the creative teams during that era but out the best seasons ever. And while I like Beast Morphers and Dino Fury, the Disney era will always reign supreme.

okay I maybe in the minority here but the Cockpit Modes are an example of how idiotic the writers were during the Neo-Saban era. The modes were a waste of money since they were never used in ground battle, they were useless and literally serve no purpose other than to make the make the rangers look when piloting their zords and they were unnecessary since past rangers were able to pilot their zords fine without them.

I really hate these cockpit modes, they look silly, goofy and stupid and they only for selling toys and nothing else. 😤😡

I wasn’t fan of the cockpit modes since the neo saban era good originally but wasn’t a fan of it. I like the pure Japanese footage on the cockpit modes. It was a good idea like to sell toys like the metallic armor in mmpr s3. But I like Hasbro originality in beast morphers with the weapons and Dino fury in the cockpit modes. I’m hoping more originality with Hasbro in the future without Japanese footage.
