I just watched this and I can't get it out of my head! This movie made me cry so much right at the end. As soon as I saw the date I gasped and when I saw where he was I cried! I bawled for quite some time. I love this movie!

I saw this movie recently.. just by accident it was just on and I got into it. Being able to feel the characters and identify with them emotionally pulled me in, so I kept watching. I never saw it coming... I felt this gut wrenching pain when I saw the chalkboard. It made me think of when I saw the news that day and I realized how stupid I was. Yes, I saw people die and knew what was happening. But I never felt that deep sickening sense of loss. I watched this movie believing that this could of happened.. the storyline. You meet somebody and fall in love, families arnt perfect whos is right? They'll get through it. And then.. it just blew me away. And to think... this could of just been ONE story.. Very well put together, it gave me goosebumps and a heavy heart.

I love that it was a twist because in real life 9/11 was a twist. Such an emotional movie. Great job to whoever made this movie

The ending was perfect...very tragic, but it couldn't have ended any better. This movie causes you to become very attached to the characters and have emotions for them. And then all of a sudden one of them happens to be in the WTC on 9/11. That's what makes this movie so great.

what makes this movie so sad is the fact that it is true, this will have been someone's scenario at 9/11. That is what makes it heart breaking!!! Absolutely amazing!! And so brave of them to use this ending!!!

guys enough with sayin 9/11 was random...the whole point of the movie is to show that the people who were tragically killed each had their own story...it's not just a number of how many died...it's the story behind each person's life..."remember me"...remember all the wonderful ppl who perished for who they were ya know?

i never got a chance to see this movie. but i really wanted to. i've kind of ruined it for myself by watching the ending before the seeing the movie but my friends wouldn't stop talking about it so i had to watch it. seeing this made me cry so i know i'm going to be in floods of tears when i watch the whole thing.

this was sooo sad, i cried :( it was emotional to watch and i capture the pain of how they felt!

I already knew that this movie had something to do with 9/11 before I saw it and when I was at the cinema with my mum (Who didn't know) We both ended up crying and these ladies beside us were crying their eyes out and when it was over the whole cinema was crying :'( This is a great movie

Cashing in would have been showing the towers go down or seeing Tyler actually struggle and die, rather than hinting at the whole thing and leaving us with a very tasteful, final journal message. How many of you expected 9/11 to happen?? So much like what we felt that day was exactly what was felt in this movie. It was out of the blue, no one saw it coming...no one knew. In fact, it reminded me of the tragedy that day and I remembered where I was. Very sad, but it is all very true.

For this complaining about how cheap or offensive the ending is or how the director was just looking to make people cry...yes, the ending came out of nowhere, but that was what the director wanted. He wanted to make a movie about 9/11 that would effect people in a similar way. Throughout the movie you grow to love these characters and root for them and hope they have a happy life, then BAM! The ending happened just as unexpected, suddenly and tragically as 9/11 did. Ta

it was funny, me and my cousin went to go see this just cuz it was out i never heard it before, and at the start of the movie i mentioned to her how much i like the windows in his dads office and low and behold what it really was. me and her were like crying! it was so sad, the whole theater gasped when they seen what day it was............. 10/10

@lipglosswtf I mean, I was a kid and all 9/11 was to me was a lot of onscreen explosions and trying to sit through the moment of silence they made us have in school. And maybe it's just that I get really involved in movies. But I felt that throughout this movie you become so close to and invested in the family that it just makes you connect real caring to 9/11. If it was meant to exploit, then you're right. I didn't see it that way, but that could well just be my naivete kicking in again.

this movie was AMAZING. the acting was SUPERB. the plotline was INCREDIBLE. i was at the edge of my seat watching this movie, it was so intense and intrigueing. then the ending... the ending SUCKED. WTF. that was SOOOO random.u werent even warned they were in the year 2001! to have him die in 9/11 put SUCH a horrible feeling in my stomach. what the fuuuck. the movie was AMAZINGGGG for me until the ending which ruined it for me. 5/5 until the ending. i say he lives and is with aly forever.

I couldn't believe the ending, first everything is going down the shitter for everyone, then everything starts working out and then... 9/11!!! It comes out of nowhere and really doesn't work.

There's one thing I don't get. When he is looking outside the window can he see the plane coming? I read a description of this scene and it said "He stands there helpless as he sees the plain" But when he's looking outside, he looks remarkably calm for someone who can see a plane about to crash into him.

@TehDDC But isn't that the point? I mean, it's not like these people had foreshadowing in their lives that they were going to die that day. The point wasn't "this is a movie about 9/11." I don't think it's using tragedy to explore the human condition, I think it was making the point that all the 9/11 victims had lives, and things they still had to do, and it was suddenly cut short. It wasn't seamlessly integrated into their lives, so why would it be seamlessly integrated into the plot?

What were the forshadowing that everyone keeps talking about? I feel stupid asking but I didn't catch anything could someone please tell me where they gave the hints?

Using 9/11 as an easy ending?? Seriously, who said that? Having Tyler die in a car accident or some other strange tragedy would have probably left people even more upset, confused, or with the though of how ridiculous it was to kill of the character in that way. That, comes off cheap. The film says it started in 1991, then says 10 years later, 2001. Then it says in the summer of 2001. We also get shots of the twin towers and Tyler goes to downtown a lot. It was done with plenty of taste.

@XSt0n3rX I doubt any of that would happen. Sure a few people may over react if they shown the planes hitting the towers, but then again a lot of people overeact about nothing. So it would be better to show the plane hitting the towers otherwise why bother with the ending? If they were not going to show it they should have made it end differently.

@TehDDC I can see your point, but I'm not sure if I agree. I think part of it might be just an opinion thing--I'm not offended by the bringing up of 9/11, and I've seen a lot of people who are. And maybe it was done solely for the audience's reaction, and I just overanalyze things. But to me, it made 9/11 that much realer to me, because I'd become so invested in the storyline that it really clicked for me how real that tragedy was in people's lives. Post continued...

what a rip, if they were going to show the buildings at the time of the attack, why didnt they show the planes hiting the towers, or at least show debree on the ground. If you ask me this was pretty random to begin with.

To say it was manipulative is pretty ignorant. Not one of the trailers hinted at 9/11, how's that exactly cashing in??? What about movies with blatant titles such as Pearl Harbor? How about the overuse of action in that war film to cash in as a blockbuster for the summer? Pull your heads out of you know where people, this wasn't cashing in. This was stating the normal people died that day, people we have no idea about. It was about his story, so why shouldn't it be told?

I don't see the ending as cheap.. it just shows how everyone has their own lives and this shows someone's life in particular who happened to be in the wrong place at wrong time.. Besides, many films are based on other horrible events like the holocaust where MILLIONS of people died, but when someone touches on 9/11 it's immediately labelled as being disespectful..

I'm sorry if you love this film or lost someone in 9/11 but I found the ending to be a dirty manipulative trick by the filmmakers. I am not against discussions of 9/11 in films but the way it was done just felt like they wanted to secure the audience feeling bad so let's throw that in their for the hell of it. Which is a shame because it was quite good beforehand but the ending COMPLETELY ruined the film for me.

are people not aware how bad this movie is for using a tragic event as a way for the audience to feel sorry for the main character? i don't mean morally although it is, and overall this was a terrible movie in general, this random middle of the road ending just helps to propel it to bullshit level. ridiculous what some movie makers are willing to do.
