Haze wasn't even PS3 exclusive, they were working on a 360 port that was supposed to come out like 6 months after the PS3 launch. Annnnnnnd then the game bombed. Some devs only launch a game on 1 platform because they don't have the money for multiplat and they hope it sells well enough for them to justify having it on other platforms.

The messed up part is that a lot of people think that the Haze PSN Profile Picture is either a stock photo or concept art. With so many KZreadrs looking back at old failed Halo Killers, I kind of wish this was true. Basically, this is the equivalent of AI creating a whole game start to finish. There is no such thing as a Halo Killer but it's too bad Call of Duty as a franchise became the *"Medal of Honor Killer"* ... But Ya know Sony's reaction to the end of Killzone and Resistance was the same moment the Sony Incorporated blatantly basically said to us: FUCK MULTIPLAYER!!! Playstation Executives have told every Gaming News Outlet/Publication to repetitively say the phrase "Story Driven" so many times until the words felt like they were being shoved up our asses.

@8576 Honestly if we had a President Nixon or Ronald Regan still in office this game would have been considered a masterpiece. The War Against Drugs became a joke when every Rap Song treated weed like it was candy rather than a guilty pleasure. The developers tried so hard to write a “War is Bad” narrative with the Nectar Narcotic but this lead to terrible gameplay with too much screen blur and enemies disappearing. The exact words from Sony Incorporated when Killzone fell off was: "Fuck Multiplayer" at the end of 2016. PS Plus has been irrelevant since 2017. Conspiracy is that the whole company was suffering from 2006 Financial PTSD whenever an exclusive shooter was even conceptualized. The Last of Us Factions Sequel has been cancelled so many times even I gave up on waiting for it. Online Functionally for any of their first party titles became extinct for 7 years and I think people are getting sick of it. I have noticed that Sony has been prioritizing westernized exclusives with a repetitive formula. Another Dual Protagonist Story Driven Game with way better reviews than it actually deserves. It’s not Single Player because there’s "2 Main Characters". Playstation Executives have told every Gaming News Outlet/Publication to repetitively say the phrase "Story Driven" so many times until the words felt like they were being shoved up our asses. It seems that every company involved in gaming has a blatant flaw based on management and design that they pretend doesn't exist. If your not proficient in creating something just be honest and transparent about it. Why is this difficult?

I remember picking this up from Blockbuster, getting home and popping it in and knowing it was shit within like...however long until they give you control.

I played haze all the way through in one sitting while i was in a backroom at my dads job when i was like 13. Haze was the first fps i played.

About the quiet cutscenes -- do you perchance have your PS3 still set to "Surround"? That usually pushes all dialog to the center speaker, which you'd obviously be missing with headphones.

I dont remember how did i began to play it or even get it but i just remember it from that cover of assassin's creed 1 on ps3, there is a picture of the game in the manuel back of Ac 1, i was a kid back then so i didn't understand anything about the game but the one thing i remembered is having fun playing in a map with a giant hole where you can descent it with cars and shooting people like a braindead kid 😂 so yeah pure nostalgia

I liked haze as a kid. Looking back on it, it was very mid. But I still have fond memories of playing it and watching the teammates go insane off of the overdose mechanic

My best friend and I did a full playthrough of this game and had a blast. Maybe not too fun single player, but multiplayer was tons of fun!

this game and resistance fall of men make me uneasy about how fast time has flown by.

Haze was absolutely amazing though and through and one of the best features you can whip a knife at a squad mates or team mates or just friendly npc in armor in the head in campaign and they have a glorious death animation so someone thought of that being done

The online was pretty fun when you could find a lobby I got this game when the Blockbuster by my house was going out of business. Compared to the futuristic vibe of Halo it was very basic but i appreciated the concepts I remember the Ps3 era being very ambitious

Tbf, I think the idea of enemies you can only see on a certain substance in a game to be very interesting but I feel like it was very poorly handled in this game. It'd been far more interesting if say there was like a rival "Nectar Corp" and their soldiers were the ones you needed nectar to fight due to the substance increasing stuff like reflexes, strength and stamina - basically turning the player into a supersoldier temporarily but with a limited supply, similar to Crysis' suit energy

Honestly I had a blast playing through HAZE's campaign back in the day, but I think it was because the PS3 was the very first system where I had the cash to buy my own games entirely independently of parents at every stage. So I got HAZE, Portal 2, Infamous 2, Call of Duty Black Ops, Orange Box, MGS4, and a whole bunch of other games. And HAZE was more or less what I expected and wanted out of the game given what I'd paid. I think this IP is ripe for a reboot with a MUCH more ambitious and polished game. Satire of hypercapitalist and ultra right wing dystopia is having a moment, and I feel like HAZE belongs in THIS era of games more than it did at launch. It also definitely needed to be better. So much better. But I don't regret playing it, and I occasionally go back to it and still have fun. Not a great game, but an okay one as long as you don't expect anything. Apply MST3K Mantra And Enjoy.

I remember this. Played all the way through. I.. don't know why. I only really remember random ass jump scares and the resistance leader joking about the propaganda surrounding him. The concept of soldiers tricked into knowingly drugging themselves to unknowingly be kept from seeing the true horrors they commit is a neat one.
