I was really hoping Mumbo would use a calibrated skulk sensor to activate the fire wall at some point. Would make for a great effect!

I think other than the cauldron one which was ahead of it's time the rest mostly suffered from KZread. Your channel was much smaller back then and the contraptions were not things people ever though to search for on their own. That said I think a few of them might not be pants but perhaps they are shorts instead.

I love this idea. Updating old red stone builds to a modern design is fantastic, even if I can’t build them exactly the same on bedrock. It at least gives me the idea and the basic workings of the systems.

Since the 1.16 you can also have cool blue flamed soulfire walkways.

The safe water drop was really cool. Imagine having a sky base and using those to drop out of it. 10/10 no pants.

I can totally see the fire pit thing being used as a fancy form of lighting. Wire that baby up to a daylight sensor and you can make it light up in the night and be put out in the day.

It can be difficult to position a piston correctly when you accidentally break one inside of a build. Paired up with observers that are also directional and you might end up removing an entire segment as a chain reaction just to replace them correctly.

I miss Mumbo using "spoon". Glad to see him get back some of his roots with "chuffed to bits" now and then.. but, a properly used "spoon" would be a treat.

The first firepit combined with the wall sequence (the firepit being the last in the sequence at the end of a hallway) would make for [probably] a very wonderful entrance animation to a base.

I just built the lava cauldron feed tape dispenser! It was fun figuring out where my redstone went wrong while trying to follow along. Thanks for being a genuine gentlemen Mumbo. This is a fun idea and I’d love to see more.

the cauldron and the fire wall ones, are going straight into my base as of right now, I definitely getting to work on my cave base again, with my newfound knowledge, gonna have a long hallway with fire lights, that turn on and close behind me as i travel

The sequenced fire wall would be a great addition to the armchair. Either when you first come through the door or as an entrance way to the corner office.

For the "surfing safe drop" Mumbo should make one in last life, but make it where there is a way to turn it off after you go through it. Then when he is Boogeyman, he could tell someone he wants to show them something, go down the safe drop and be like "isn't this cool??" Turn it off, and then when the other person tries to go through it, they fall to their death

If they die to fall damage, the bogeyman isn’t in cured. He would have to take them down to very low health and then kill them. (It would work though, if he was in red)

The lava cauldron storage is actually really useful because you wouldn't have to worry about needing coal for your furnaces ever again. Lava can smelt up to 100 items.

I'm surprised this was recommended to me a year late, these are all awesome!

the fire lighting looks so cool, I actually want it.

As someone who doesn’t understand red stone at all, I can definitely say that none of these are pants.

i love how old mumbo made a video on a machine i could make in less than 5 mins lmao, the dynamic fireplace wall thing if u were wondering

All of them are awesome, except the fire pit is a bit expensive when you can just light up some netherrack.

I can actually see a few functional uses for turning on/off the fire pit. If that pit was designed as a place to burn mobs to death and then collect the resources, with a few modifications the on/off option could be used to toggle the farm as manual or fully AFK. I would love to see what Mumbo could do with that mechanic in any mob farm, actually.

You could just put hoppers beneath the fires and it will pull all drops through after killing the mobs. That's how many 'cat filters' on Bedrock iron farms work.

@@Claramoo oh yea my bad, didn't realize we were talking about campfires (goodness where was my head watching this video) In that case sure, it could be made to work if the mobs are flushed in from a side or sth

Build 3 could actually use skulk sensors in a hallway so as you walk down the lights turn on. It would make some cool replay footage. This could solve my issue of sucking at redstone

the first one is so cool with the new and improved version. now i’m wondering how that would work in bedrock and what other whack things you could do with it… it might be testing time for me 👀👀 will report back if i ever end up testing any of it out on bedrock!!

Took me a bit of tweaking but I’ve now got the Fancy Fire Lighting design from 5:58 in the video working in my Xbox redstone world, I will be incorporating it into my future builds, thanks for the idea Mumbo!

Only downside is that they now need a two block space between them, the difference between Bedrock redstone behaviour and Java redstone behaviour is really annoying. 😭

Put that retracting fire right after your huge waterfall door, so as you swoop into the cave, the doors close behind you, it's totally dark for 2 seconds, then the fires light up in sequence. That sounds so badass.

The fire pit should be connected to a daylight sensor. The fire is lit at night and is put out at dawn.

I would say all of them have been improved so much, that ... I actually want all of them in my base. Please make a tutorial for the lava farm, exactly like that!

If you have a bit of redstone knowledge, you can make it yourself. Make a piston feed tape of cauldrons with the lava, and a comparator runs from the button. This comparator is monitered by an observer, which makes the sticky piston spit out the cauldron/catch it, and also triggers the feed tape at a delay.

@@onyxgan9923 it is still simple. Listen me out. A broken ring of redstone dust below the pistons connected to them, with a repeater on three ticks on each side. You saw Mumbo's placement of the pistons. All you need is to press the button. The final sticky piston fires from an observer at the end.

The "I want this in my base" was my main feeling watching this video

#1 is an easy 10. The cauldron one is actually pretty useful for automatic water damage/ fire removal. each extinguish counts as a single layer and the dripstone can refill the cauldrons as they cycle around. Ray built a trap with that and armour stands... basically the player could escape the trap with fire aspect, until he added the cauldron cycler. It might be better on bedrock, since they have potions in cauldrons so you could cycle for portion effects and have the leftover cauldrons refill via the dripstone glitch.
