Relive the World's Toughest Adventure Race | Red Bull X-Alps 2017
Спорт
In July 2017, 31 world-class athletes from 20 different nations embarked on a grueling hike and fly adventure across the Alps. Filming the race was an 18-man camera crew, equipped with the latest technology and a helicopter. Just in time for the holidays, we've put together a 52-minute documentary showcasing the most epic moments of this year’s edition.
Jam-packed with incredible paragliding and almost impossible feats of Alpine adventure, the movie is now online at www.redbullxalps.com. Narrated by race reporter Tarquin Cooper, the documentary features veteran pilots such as reigning champion Chrigel Maurer (SUI1), Paul Guschlbauer (AUT1) and Romanian running man Toma Coconea (ROU), as well as rookies like Benoît Outters (FRA4) and Simon Oberrauner (AUT4).

That was total madness, I loved every bit of that!
I know many people are complaining that one cant see in this where all the athletes are, but I still love this video! It shows a lot of emotions and most importantly it has some great shots of the scenery and the flying! amazing filming!
OMG. The fact, that takats ran his first marathon ever on the day after he pulled his night pass and went up to monte baldo by night is just covered by "ran 20 km in 2 hours"? wtf? this was one of my absolut highlights - especially after beeing over 30 hours awake doing high level exhausting extreme sport. i cannot believe that. And besides this: i really tried to follow the race. but the coverage was so bad - you had to follow every athlets facebook page in the hope of getting some information. after a while i gave up and said to myself: wait for the documentary. but this is not what i was expecting. i really hope next time red bull does a better job in covering this great event.
No room for an emergency parachute I imagine? Spooky with those high AR wings. Amazing!

Hi there, an emergency parachute is mandatory during all flights in Red Bull X-Alps.
Wow again!

Thanks for this Clip! However I would really appreciate if you could focus more on tactical decisions made for the Day and their autcome for each pilot and the field in General. Maybe showing changes of the field as livetracking maps taken from every Start and end of the day. This to my opininion would be of more interest than athletes blister compilation ;-). But again Thanks for this outstanding competition and Video! Love it!

So awesome
Great video! Well done. Very fun to watch. Newer videos are too short! Can't cram the whole thing into 27 minutes!
How about mentioning some of the other athletes. I know its exciting to see Maurer and the other top pilots but a lot of us support racers from our home countries. Almost nothing on these guys who are pushing themselves to the extreme and making the flights of their lives.
14:00 starts off sounding like a Frenchman and finishes sounding like a American lol

Awesome! :)
Hey redbull. Agree with all the other comments.... it’s an epic race, but the coverage should show where they are, who’s leading, who’s gaining, where each guy is relative to check points, etc.
Could you please include a map with the positions of the attendess? Would be very helpful to track the race :)
very goood........very tough.....
Please use more actual GPS locations on a map of the various athletes, day by day, it would be more interesting to follow the actual progress of the race this way. The documentary approach is great, but it could be more balanced with like a live commentary approach in the style of an actual race event.

Thanks a lot for your feedback Caspar, we'll take it in consideration!
nice video but I also would love to see more of the strategy. also please leave out sensless sentences like "...but his ultimate goal is to reach Monaco" Thats everyones goal! Don't try to make things artificially exciting when in fact the situation is clear. After all this is Europe and not America. We enjoy informative documentaries. Additionally most people who watch this are probably paragliding pilots themselves. So mentioning technical aspects would be appreciated.
Wow!
Please can you upload same type video 2019
Another year, another x-race video where you have almost no idea where people are in relation to each other and the Waypoints.

A. Totally agree! For an event that is as much of geography, and 100%GPS reliant, I wonder if the video makers don’t have a clue how to add map graphics. Anyways, I appreciate their work of making this video

they should just make a live tracking at the right side .. with km between the people
let's go to the refuge!
I really enjoyed this video. I just missed the ranking position on each point of the race.
sorry, but claudio heidl 😂😂😂 aaaaaalways first at the start, always!
1:00 Diego Forlán !!!
Dream, and not more from me.
Great race! but why not take it to Chamonix or Annecy where you could arrange a more spectacular finale, and where paragliding is something people care about. Monaco feels very boring and isolated for this event.

Annecy was one of the stops back in 2015. Not sure why it wasn't in 17...

And chamonix is where paragliding started ;)
If this would be a script, the producer would fire the writer
4:12, who is running with an umbrella ? must be someone very pragmatic...

Supar sir
which paragliders did they use ? A B C or any other ? A paragliding Pilot could probably answer that.

It's too bad the narrator did not pronounce the names of the contestants in their native form. Too much `Brit` I suspect.
When will they have the race end somewhere where people genuinely care about paragliding... Monaco sucks
