This contest goes to show you that you need 2 great dunkers to make a great Dunk Contest. Diallo didn't cheat us and I knew he was going to win and bring it, but nobody put any pressure on him so it didn't force him to do anything super crazy other than his Shaq Superman Dunk which obviously won the night. It's hard to have an entertaining competition when 1 person is just clearly better than everyone else.

Best dunk of the night imo was miles bridges 360 alley. Why the dunk contest sucks now: Judging: they hand out 10s like candy. 10s should be reserved for true greatness. There were only 2 good dunks imo this whole night and I don't think either of them were groundbreaking or innovative.... Miles 360 alley and dunk over shaq with the elbow. I'd give a 9 to both of those and the rest of the dunks were 6-8s Attempts: missing dunks should not count against the participant. If you want to see truly great dunks (from people who do not practice crazy dunks regularly) then you have to get over this "do it first try" mentality. I don't care if a dunk takes 3-5 tries, that just tells me how difficult it really is. I wouldn't be surprised if these guys have been scared away from trying certain dunks because of this pressure to do it first try....then you just end up with a bunch of lame dunks....that somehow get 10s...? I think they really need to bring in some pure dunkers from outside the NBA. Guys that actually practice this shit like their lives depend on it.
