I think Gordon both times had a like THE dunk but he never kept up with it like others did. And in the D-Wade situation he was honestly right, the dunk he did with Chance didn't deserve a 50 and he shouldn't have given it to him then

Vince's dunks are just insanely aesthetically pleasing. I think it's because he gets so high that he basically throws them through cleanly, so the way the net moves is just perfect and crisp. So many great dunks and dunkers here, but Vince is just the GOAT.

That Vince Carter 360 windmill will ALWAYS be iconic..players have replicated it in other contest, and even in games..but this one by Vince..his first dunk of the night..the silent anticipation..the way the rim sounds as he dunks the ball and the fact that Vince got so high up and had all that POWER..Shaq’s face with that camera absolutely sealed it!

Just jumping over someone isn’t that great on its own, any time the person being “jumped over” starts with the ball resting on their head, the dunker is using the ball to push themselves up. Gordon “jumped over” Tacko Fall in the same way nate Robinson “jumped over” Dwight Howard.

I remember having our own dunk contests as kids with our hoop lowered to the smallest height. I did the off the glass between the legs after Jason Richardson did it. Well i mean i attempted it and ended up with palms full of gravel and a messed up wrist. Then we found a kid that had one of those little mini trampolines and we'd put it in front if the hoop to give ourselves extra hops. Man i wish i was that easily entertained now! Those were the days.

The last 2 Dunks are just illegal

It’s still crazy impressive to me that 20+ years later, with all the incredible athletes we’ve seen come into the league, no one has done a 360 windmill against the grain like Vince carter. And other guys have tried it too. Paul George, spida, I think trey Murphy this year too. There’s just something about the full extension for the windmill and the power and height that Carter got that’s just umatched. No one else like that dude.

Windmills for Vince was just a regular dunk. The guy would routinely windmill in games, windmill off alley-oops, windmill around defenders etc etc.

The fact that I hadn’t seen the Nash to Amare dunk before speaks to how underrated it is…that was incredible precision!

Salute to all the camera crews to capture those terrific moments!

That lavine Gordon dunk off was one of if not the greatest showdown ever.

For me, nothing beats that Vince Carter dunk at the end. It was the perfect dunk in every way. So clean.

Lavine’s space jam dunk is criminally underrated, that has to be the smoothest dunk in this video.

How is someone that won the dunk contest twice criminally underrated? Id argue Aron Gordon is criminally underrated.

@@davidberger8420 It's because everytime good dunkers are mentioned it's always how Aaron Gordon was robbed. Lavine won 2 dunk contests yet if you look at these comments Aaron Gordon is mentioned more

@@baconsaladking Well Aaron was robbed and that is why he is mentioned more on top of having what is considered the best dunk of all time in the dunk contest. Doesn't mean Zach is criminally underrated.

Dunks have so improved with years it’s unbelievable.

Seeing this shows me the improvement over time

Where is the Jason Richardson backwards between the legs dunk? That dunk has to deserve some level of recognition on there.

It's good revisiting some of these dunks. Some of these I'm not sure I realize were that good at the time (Derrick Jones Jr, Diallo)

the windmill from the free throw line is so underrrated. top 5 greatest dunks of all time in my opinion.

Vince’s last one is my favourite. Spinning the wrong way with the opposite windmill looks so cool

2016 was one of the best sports years ever. Gordon vs Lavine dunk contest, Kobe 60 point last game, Warriors 73-9, Cavs 3-1 comeback, Villanova buzzer beater in the National championship, Cubs World Series 3-1 comeback first ws in 108 years.

NBA need to to do multiple dunk contests. Winners v Winners would be amazing 👏

Besides the nostalgia with VC’s whole performance, what blows my mind was it looked like the whole contest he was just doing warm ups.

That mascot dunk by Gordon is the best dunk of all time! That was crazy

I'm glad some of those 80s dunks are getting respect here. They still deserve props despite not being quite as flashy as the modern era dunks.
