I am so sorry you were discriminated against, that is unacceptable. I have dedicated my channel as well as my time and energy to fighting against all these misconceptions directed toward not only the Wicca, but also Occultists, Pagans and Satanists. I continue to struggle with the limited growth my channel. The barrage of negative "you're going to hell" comments I constantly receive. Minority beliefs are constantly belittled, castigated and relegated to the bin of "fringe" beliefs. You have the right to practice and believe as you choose, as outlined in our 1st Amendment to the Bill of Rights. When I was in High School and people knew that I listened to Metal music and saw some of my jewelry, oh boy! Even in junior highscool due to my Metal music and my beliefs got me into fights. Nothing new about it. I was ostracized for being Lutheran in a Catholic neighborhood growing up. Nothing new.

I am from Japan but am now a citizen of USA, I was brought up in Shinto which I still practice and live by and I did accept Wicca a bit over three years ago. I keep my beliefs to myself at work as I am a teacher at an elementary school. When I'm asked what my beliefs are I just say I pray to a greater power than myself or just say God when I'm dealing with radical Christians, I just nod my head when they ask me I have found Jesus. This is unfair but I don't want to loose my job and be black listed from teaching in schools. I love this country so much and I just can't stand how people can act so intoleranant and even fascist. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I will always laugh in the face of those christians that think the modern western way they celebrate christmas is a pure christian thing. Born and raised in Scandinavia, norse paganism is my cultural heritage and all I see is a bunch of christians celebrating winter solstice in the old norse way. Unfortunately, I too have & still do experience Religious discrimination, even within my own family. After all this time, you'd think Witches wouldn't have to look over their shoulders anymore. 😔

I'm a Pagan,and being black i can't be open with my family about my path. It gets really lonely,i really don't have friends that I can be open with. I totally understand how anyone feels when it comes to religious discrimination.

Talk to wage and hour division. I'd also see a lawyer. I am in San Antonio, TX. Bigger mistake than getting married was. I'm in a trailer park (beats your car). It took a year for the park manager to realize there was no way I was going to be Christian again. When then found out I was Pagan, the hassles started. My grass was too tall. These concrete cylinders, which had been there long before I bought the trailer, now needed to be removed. All kinds of stuff. One month tall grass, had to wait for my paycheck. Just a few days. She came knocking every day. Third day, I ripped her a new one, then called the owner and threatened a religious harassment complaint. More where that came from, but you get the point. Talk to a lawyer. Hope you kept copies of your performance reviews.

Yes, very recently. Not on the extent of your situation but by a coworker in person and on Facebook. I had posted a picture on Instagram and Facebook of a shirt my daughter requested me to paint for her. It was a black t-shirt I painted a flaming pentical on. My coworker saw the post on her Facebook page and was offended kicked off her friends list and blocked me. Then confronted me on the job telling me it offended her and she was a Christian. I said it was a piece of artwork my daughter asked me for. She went on to say that it was the sign of Satan and she didn't appreciate it smacking her in the face when she went on line to check her Facebook feed.

I wonder what local news stations would think about the discrimination that you experienced at your job? Also, see about contacting politicians from local on up to the highest levels.

I worked as a security guard and the manager of the building called me in to talk my Pensacola necklace and one of the clients had made a complaint about it I respectively said it wouldn't be fair if I can't wear my chosen religion and other people can so I told the manager you can take it up with my boss which thankfully my boss didn't care enough to give me a phone call after

Sometimes they come in my emails and when i reply it says invalid address. So i have relpying in the comments section here. Blessed be, and you and little one are in the arms of the Supreme Mother & Father almighty.

Unfortuanately that goes on here in the UK too. Thankfully it wasn't me who experienced it, but it was one of the students who was suppose to stay on at the company I used to work for, which was a a private nursery (which you guys in America call a daycare). I wasn't present when this particular incident took place as it was one of the days I didn't work, and I barely saw this student. Wish I was able to get a hold of her I wasn't aware she was also a practitioner, nor was she aware I was either, just like everyone else at this company. Most these people knew about me was that I liked herbal medicine and crystals. Many of my co-workers were Christian based. This incident unfolded from racist remarks between one of my previous co-workers and a random person on the street - Both were black, my co-worker was jamaican and the other person was from one of the African countries. From my knowlrdge from what other co-workers told me, my jamaican co-worker came back from her lunchbreak, making a remark about the random person she bumped to in the street, telling people "you got to be careful of those Africans as they do black magic." the student then made a comment saying she was a white witch. Behind her back, my co-workers then started knattering amongst themselves, "saying they didnt want their children in the same classroom as the student. When I came in the following day, they told me of this as well as telling the company's director who then said she didn't want any witches in her company. My co-workers asked me to explain the difference between black and white magic as they know I have an "awareness" and "understanding" of it. No I didn't tell them I practiced as I didn't want the troube. A couple of months later when the student was due to finish her course and stay on to join the team as an offical team member, she didn't come back. I wish I could have grabbed a chat with her before she went.

While my area is getting better at acceptance, this is still an issue with a lot of backwards thinking people. At work I’m technically still in the broom closet, I wouldn’t be surprised if I ran into this problem at work at some point

Within the Mexican community the type of spell work you briefly described is well received for generations we have been going to curanderos or shawmen not sure of the spelling Alexa was no help. Thank you for this video. You explain this so well and show no ill will to those that did this. It's inspiring. I also have lost jobs for not being Christian. It seems to be on the rise and there are no news articles on it, but there are on people losing jobs for not being the right political party on both sides, because it's not protected. I am looking for my path, I'm kind of New Age with Pagan leanings as I find it beautiful. I didn't talk about it at work except to one person who brought it up because she was interested in it on one job. On the others, they just asked outright if I was a Christian and when they found out I wasn't, they sabotaged my work for several months and then let me go. They didn't care what I was, just what I wasn't, a christian. So sorry it happened to you.

I live. In Southeast Georgia near Savannah. My experiences have not been so extreme, but I have lost "friends" over my beliefs. I have noticed that the north is so much less accepting. I don't broadcast my beliefs, but in my 30ish years as a Pagan I have learned ppl are uneducated and very judgmental on what they know little on. Sorry about your job and the asshole stalker ❤

It seems to me that religious discrimination has its origins in a completely different phenomenon. It's about getting some competition out of the way. In ancient times, religious discrimination was practically non-existent, and today it applies only to a handful, although the most numerous, beliefs that have their origins in the same place. In my opinion, it was deliberately designed because the impression of divine assistance appears only in a sufficiently large group of mutual support, which also applies to looting and the distribution of goods among its members. There can be no better independent or self-aware alternative for its members. Even if members of such a group reject the way this mechanism works as shameful, it does not mean that it does not function properly. Bringing satisfaction from the positive conclusion of matters. Ignorance is merely an attempt to balance this equation without the proper solution. Preventing the madness that comes with allowing yourself to think of being pure evil. Or, to be more precise, repression and projection.😂 Good job and very interesting material 👍

May you find employment comprised with higher quality relations; acceptance; and respect in contrast to your former job....

"Workings and Whatnot" -- Dude, if that's not a good business name, I don't know what is! LOL (Seriously, as tempting as it is, I absolutely swear I will *not* use it myself if I ever set up a witchy business.) I hope you're able to get some relief in the job/income arena ASAP, the fact that you're so experienced and flexible should stand you in good stead. Unfortunately there's no good fix for the aberrant/malfunctioning attitudes & thoughts you spoke about, aside from just "keeping on keeping on" and trying to maintain self-protection while hoping that, bit by bit, 13th century attitudes will advance (or perhaps be dragged kicking & screaming) into the current century. I'm not officially pagan, but was born into & at least partly still identify with one of the generally less-loved Abrahamic religions... and have awakened to rabidly nasty grafitti in front of the house, or when living overseas had to be a lot more worried about admitting my birth religion than I was of admitting I was American. (Side note: If I was in your shoes, the company that pushed you out would've been talking to my lawyer within 24 hours -- wouldn't even have to include religion/spirituality, just the whole lack of proper recording, reporting, warning, etc. that are required by law.)
