Wow, I cannot believe what I am hearing I am shock to hear that there are real Christian in the Philippines who keep Gods Dietary Law. I have been retired for a while now and am seeking to find a new home but when I thought about living abroad, the eating of unclean food was my biggest concern, over 90% of people who called them self believer really do not believe and that because they never read the Bible. I check out your sight a lot it is one of my favourite sight for info on your Country. I saw in one of your video which you said you did not eat pork and I thought she must be Muslim and to my surprise no, you are a real believer in JESUS that is truly a good thing to hear, so I have to put PI on my list of new home abroad, I think I will need to connect with more people like you to find out where is the community that have faith in the Bible. I am joining your channel today and when I leave the US for good I want to reach out to people like you for direction if possible, I want to also say do not fret about relationships when you have God behind you all things will work for good in your favour young Lady.

There are those who "believe" and try to push their beliefs on everyone, and there are those too busy living out their beliefs to spend their life analyzing everyone else. There is time for counsel, but if you are always seeing need to push others, then perhaps you should look within, as there is plenty that needs attention.

Now imagine if Jesus held today's comon view of "live and let live", " you believe what you want to believe I believe what I want to believe". Well. You, I, or anyone in the Philipines or most of the world for that matter, would still be living like pagans who offered their children on the hot hands of hands of Molock, and living for god's made of stone and wood. Not sure it's what God had intended when He created us. True, we must love all people, and that is why we teach them about He who is the origin of all Love.

Religion is one of those things that you need to be compatible with for marriage but not necessarily for friendship. I'm always questioning everything but that doesn't mean I'm likely to change. Especially after a long life of questioning. You can't control what others believe so you either accept friends as they are or your not really friends. But never fear ending a courting relationship if you discover an incompatibility.

Im with you Randy..i have no idea why people cant simply respect other peoples beliefs..you know..aoart from beliefs being not facts or based upon facts. For instance, why do people get so upset when Islamic fundamentalists practice their beliefs by suicide bombing or beheading apostates?..Cant we just respect their beliefs? And why cant we simply respect slavery when it's mandated in the old testament, along with instructions of how to kill your children if they are disrespectful and how to sell your daughter and how to kill non believers. You really have to accept and respect other peoples beliefs, including paying someone 30 pieces of silver if you rape their wife or daughter and stoning blasphemers, gays and adulterers to death. See, the problem that happens when you allow people to believe insane cult like ideas is..well, look at the world..in fact look at America and the Philippines..America with the highest rate of teen pregnancy in the OECD and lowest rate of literacy and the Philippines with the highest rate of single mothers due to no divorce in the world.

Religion should never be argued. By definition, one believes by faith. I'm a Theravanda Buddhist in the U.S. which makes me a definite outlier. My wife is a Lutheran. We don't argue at all about religion. I've gone to church with her, she has gone to the Wat with me. She has developed a deep interest in meditation and philosophy of spreading good will. I was so positively influenced by Catholic Youth Organization growing up as the provided the major sports program in my neighborhood for anyone regardless of their belief or associations. When our son died we were both deeply tested by our religious beliefs. In the end, I became a more devote Buddhist, while she had a far more difficult time accepting "God's Will" of her religion. As time passed I came to realize what you believe is academic until a tragedy strikes. Then it's real. And no one, and I mean no one, understands until they have been through it.

Your present life as it is happy, healthy, able to work, enjoy life, improving your life or not, It is what you make of it within your heart and mind. You receive what you give out! It has nothing to do if you like pork, meat, or just veggies. I have always found that those who try to force there ways to others are most likely unbalance and sickly with their own life! They are not really sure of themselves ,who they really are or believe! I believe that if I see a happy and well adjusted person and notice that this person is not sick too often or gets well very fast as natural as possible, is the person that is on the right path of any life style. These are the people I would want to follow and learn from! Makes no difference who they are!

Yes Bob. And that is one of the reasons why certain types of seafoods are forbidden to eat in Islam and Judaism. In theory most of Judaism laws also applies to Christianity. But Christians have divided their religion into over 1000 directions, and over 5000 bible versions. Its just a big mess at this point. Original Christian language, which Jesus spoke was Arameic. Arameic is close to Arabic and Hebrew languages. But only few people speak Arameic nowdays. They all call God for Allah (in their original languages. Only with small variations). Even the Christian trinity is a fabrication. No such thing as trinity in the original bible. None. Trinity was added later. And it violates the 10 commandments. In addition there are several language translation errors been done. And later rewritimg of some sentences or even added verses to "make sense" of some earlier errors. Too much human meddling of the bible. So i researched Islam. It made much more sense. It is inline with Judaism, and original Christianity. But adds much more structure to life:) The Islamic laws are built up lpgicly and has a lot of wisdom. It is fundamented on wisdom. Even wisdom far beyond their knowledge of that time. I respect those that takes their religion seriously. Just sad that up to 70% of vhristians nowdays believe in trinity and other added humancorruptions of the bible. No wonder there exists over 1000 versions, and over 5000 if include all language translations. Many of them contradicts parts of eavhother. In Islam, there is only 1 version of the Quran. And it is in Arabic. It is in its original wording. Nit allowed to be meddled with. Any translations are only considerd just as help. It is only the Arabic original version whivh is considered the Quran. And while the church discouraged people from learning the original christian lamguage rtc, so thry could learn directly. In Islam everyone is encouraged to learn Arabic. So they can learn directly the words of God. And to protect the words of God from corruptions. Noone can now change the words of God in the Quran, because millions of people have memorized it. And any alteration by humans etc will get spotted and reported.

Pork is forbidden in all the 3 Abrahamic religions. Allthough most christians nowdays eat it as if it does not apply to them. Philippine Balut is also a sensitive item. It is forbidden. It basicly boils a small chicklet inside the egg to death. While crabs do not have such netvecells, so a crab will not sense the increasing heat (until thry evemtually die). But a chicken inside the egg have nerves, and will go through scrutinizing pain before it dies. So it is forbidden to eat from a Religious standpoint because it is unnevesary torture of animals. (If want to eat animals, then kill it with minimal pain). But i can not go around telling random filipinos how barbaric it is. But hopefully with time the Balut tradition just dies out. Some food traditions are not good. In addition from a scuentific view, eating food that went through trauma before dieing is much more unhealthy. The meat etc is flooded with cortisol etc stressresponses. And other toxic vhemical responses. Which the human then eat and absorb when eat it. Nit going to kill you, but will have an extra negative effect on the humanbody health. Not a gamechanger if done very seldom. But do it frequent, and it will have a noticeable impact on the human body (diseases life expectancies, etc).

A mind should be challenged with different views so that there's a greater understanding of the diversity there is in life is, that will take away the unknown and fear it strengthens tolerance and that's how society advanced without conflicts. Just look at nature. Diversity is what advances nature, it's what makes life thrive. When there's a lack of diversity (same values everywhere) it becomes corrupted and dies off.

Happy Easter to my fellow Christians and everyone, actually. This came up in my feeds again today. I decided to leave another comment. I actually have attended and checked out a wide variety of Christian denominations to review them and decide for myself if another church was better. I did make one small change but could have chosen others that were quite good also. I feel that no church is perfect and my wife agrees. When it comes to friends from different denominations, I don’t pester them about denominations. Instead, I mostly focus on making sure that they understand the gospel and how to I corporate it into one’s life. For example, the attitude of loving someone whom has done wrong is the opposite from what the world does. The parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin and the prodigal son shows the model for loving the person whose gone astray, because they are the ones in harms way. I know that these stories illustrate the nature of God’s love for us, but its also how we are to love each other.

The vast majority of Filipinos you will meet will be Catholic. In the south you can find Muslims, and there is the occasional Inglesia de Christo church. I found very few people in the Philippines that were hyper religious. For most, Catholicism is something your born into. There is very little serious study and very few actually read or understand their Bible. Church or religion is not the answer for finding a significant other. Marriage is protected in the Philippines. Women have not been allowed to destroy it yet. Laws and social pressures are what marriages intact. After all, America has tons of churches mostly filled by women. The divorce rate inside the church is the same as outside the church.

The Apostle Paul wrote that no food was off-limits to Christians, including pork. However, he also wrote that it was OK for Christians to limit themselves, if they felt a certain food was bad. He went further by writing that if one felt it was sinful to eat the forbidden food, then to them it would be a sin to eat it, but not to others. He also wrote that those who forbid certain foods had no right to condemn Christians who ate the forbidden food. In short, Paul seems to be saying : It is OK to eat all food or not eat all food, just do not condemn other Christians who disagree with you because it is your own private belief.

I am an active and practicing Seventh Day Adventist, so I get what you are saying. They say don't talk politics or religion if you want to have friends. Sometimes you just have to let people find their own way or if they question you, tell them as you said, we will not agree, so let's talk something else. Now, if they come to you with serious questions about religion, sure, entertain those, but if they start getting triggered, tell them to go read the bible on their own and come up with their own conclusions. You would be surprised how many foreigners, but younger and older like me, have religion play a big part in our lives. That is what I love about your country; it is still a God-fearing people, not like the moonbats who hate all religion, don't know how to define a woman, think men can have babies, etc. I just shake my head and look forward to fleeing this hellhole and retiring the Philippines where I will be at peace in your amazing country.

Good subject! Best to decide when appropriate and not when expected. It is better to be different. Getting on the same sheet of music with everyone is not such a good thing. The choices we make between principles and practicalities do say who we are. Some are quick to realize which side of the bread has butter. Fine. Others look at others to define what is alright. That is weakness and not listening to God. What if all the choices we make must be made here on earth and in heaven there are no choices, or then God let sin into His home? Then not choosing the choices in front of us is the wasted opportunity.

17 years ago we got married. My wife is Catholic, and wanted a big church wedding. I am not religious (spiritual sure). I did what ever was asked of me to get her that wedding. She does her thing (nightly prayers) and never tries to make me do anything. Its all good. Be you... and true to yourself. You are still young and you will find your partner when the timing is right. ITs give and take on all things, not just religion.

Hello from chicago. We all have our own beliefs about religion and it should NEVER be a problem as long as we simply respect others. The problems arise when someone feels it's their "duty" to preach to you that you should believe exactly what they do. That is very wrong and it only leads to disrespect, hatred and intolerance. Whatever religion a person chooses to follow is their business and needs to be respected. Hope your having a GREAT week, don't worry about what others think. Just be happy, peace. 🤗🤗

Rubi, sometimes here in Dallas I am a little down and depressed too, but it's nothing serious that a gorgeous long black haired cafe skinned young Philippina can't resolve, Haha! Any ideas, Rubi??? Maybe hard for young folks to understand but there was a time that people could argue about religion, politics, fashion, anything. And argue politely and respectfully and it was often a good thing. Maybe you won't convince the other(s) but in the process you may learn what other people's make up is, how they function and think. Learning what makes other people tick in creases our understanding of fellow humans and can help us get along better. Ad getting along fantastically with you Rubi is a dream of mine, yeap! Because I am a Chef cutting out Pork and shellfish from my repertoire, my port folio would be very difficult and, in my opinion, senseless. I am not religious but I am sympathetic to people who are, I don't understand why people would not be. My word of advise to increasing numbers of secular people is that for ages people have drawn their moral convictions, their questions on how to live life, their paths to take and choose, their teachings from religions that were dominant in their societies and cultures. If you don't want to be spiritual, that is fine, but you better have something that replaces the guidance that religion used to give to people, otherwise you are lost. Be well, Rubi, Chef Paul

Religion is a very touchy subject when developing a relationship. It's a great way to develop communication. It's not so much an argument, just an explanation of each other's beliefs. How you were raised and how your beliefs developed during your life and how you live your life is paramount. There are so many different religions and variations of each religion it's naive to think you will find someone who believes exactly the same thing as you. I can sense the frustration/confusion in your voice about this. I've found out it's usually best not to discuss this subject early in a relationship until something in one or the other's behavior gives you cause for concern. Hopefully after a while together two people will have developed a way to discuss topics like this respectively of each other's position. 😍

It seems that if someone expresses a different view of religion, the other person takes it personal. As if you don’t like them or you’re attacking them, when it’s not about them. Something I really don’t like is when others push their beliefs on me. You believe what you do, I believe what I do. Not my place to tell you, nor you me. I did have a young man once ask me if I ever thought about changing my religion. Of course he wanted me to change to his lol.

I am an American, and very interested in visiting the Philippines, and potentially as a retirement destination in a decade or so. But I am also concerned that I will not be able to make friends or establish relationships there. Because I get the impression that dogma has too strong of a hold on the population there. My beliefs too are very strong and essential to my being. And I also don't want to, or think I should need to lie to anyone about who I am. My relationship with religion is actually rather complicated. But if not given significant time to explain, its most easily summarized as atheist. And even if given the time and people hear me out, that is usually what they hear anyway. I am not trying to convince anyone of my beliefs. In fact, I think that is part of the problem with religion, that it requires someone to tell you what to believe. I think your spirituality should come truly from within your own experience. And nobody knows the unanswerable better than you do. To adopt someone else's beliefs is really a submission of freedom to think. Anyway, I just feel like my general beliefs about religion will largely get me rejected by anyone in the Philippines that may get close enough to me to warrant the religion discussions. Which is giving me a lot of pause in going there. Being discriminated against for my beliefs, or what is deemed as a lack of belief is already a problem for me in the culture I live in now. I wouldn't want to put myself in a situation where that is even worse.

Over the years I've had my eyes opened about a lot of things. But I'm always searching for and open to the truth. It seems to me that our faith, or beliefs and our feeling about anything from religion to politics, is very much based on all the knowledge and experience that we have at that moment. But as new information comes to me, I think that, for me, it's important ot evaluate my belief system based on the new information. The history of all religions is really quite fascinating. Every time I travel and visit a new country I visit the churches, mosques, synagogues, temples etc. to get a better understanding of what the major belief structure is. I find it helps me understand the people better even if a lot of the people in that country are not true believers. Religion have a lot of traditions tired to them and you can find parts of it in their society. I think people should also look at their religion's history as they might be surprised how it has changed over the years. There necessarily is no problem having a partner with different beliefs as long as there is an understanding. The problems start with imposing beliefs on your partner. I can't really get on with zealotry. The problem with "faith" is that it does not question or seek to understand so it can make resolving issues difficult. But, there can be a way to create a safe environment where all these things can be discussed like any other differences. There are always unreconcilable differences - people tend to ignore them or pretend that they do not exist. The question is what you are willing to accept and live with. If you can't be flexible with anything, it is going to be a tough life. I don't think people here are sufferers of Rubeuti's faith. I am not a person of faith but I am not going to rule out a person because they believe in some things that I do not.
