Welcome to the July 2024 release notes for Windows 11, version 23H2 - also referred to as the Windows 11 2024 Update. With this month’s update, the “show desktop” button is back on the taskbar by default and you can now copy files from the Windows Share window. We have addressed an issue that affected the ability to safely remove USB devices when Task Manager was open and another affecting the audio quality when recording videos using the Snipping Tool. Once you install this update, you’ll see new emoji to help convey tone and emotion-and the ability to create 7-Zip and TAR files using the context menu in File Explorer.
