Another relaxing day in London doing some POV street photography using the Canon R6 combined with the Canon RF 50mm 1.8. This pov street photography session was super fun and I'm really happy with the photos I managed to get. We walked along the embankment towards the Southbank area and over near the London Eye as those areas work well for street photography. Using the Canon RF 50mm 1.8 was pretty much perfect for street photos like I took in this video. I find that the 50mm isn't just a budget friendly lens but genuinely a fantastic focal length for street photography.

Hey Mike! love the vibe for these. When shooting street do you shoot in full auto? or choose a priority setting depending on the shot? For example for the long exposure did you just set the shutter and let the camera figure out aperture and iso?

What a wonderful video, thoroughly enjoyed that, not just as a great advert for the little lens but also as a tutorial on how to get great shots out of what's happening around you. Really motivates me to get out there with my new RF 50 1.8 and be more creative. Some really lovely shots there and I was amazed at how you manage to compose such interesting shots on the fly like that. Talent + a hell of a lot of practice, I'm guessing. Thanks! :)

you keep saying you like the composition . but you dont move around you lift the camera and compose and shoot . how do you know you like the composition if you dont even move around to see other possible compositions ? you like it as oposed to what lol.? (genuine question)

Great question. I'm noticing what the composition will look like before I lift my camera up. If we're walking around all day - I see lots of compositions that don't turn out to be any good at all. But I'm editing the photos and footage together so you're seeing it as if it's successful every time. I've used the 50mm so much over the years I have a good ides what the framing will be like without having to look through the camera. I hope this helps, thanks for watching!
