Like a dead planed with no trees. Just like little muddy Britain. But at least Iceland has some cool mountains.

I've made this drive before. Drove around the ring road around the whole island back in 2019, living out of the back of a Subaru Legacy hatchback for a week. One of the best trips I've ever taken. Thanks for letting me relive that.

it really is. i did the drive around iceland in 2017 and it was increadible . every 20 minutes or so the landscape completely changes. from rolling grasslands, to volcanic landscapes, deserts, primordial worlds. its just breathtaking.

not really. we visited a few months ago, and even startign in Reykjavik, you're not close enough to the volcano to even see the smoke in the sky or anything (not that i noticed anyway). and from where the glacial lagoon is at the end of the video, that's completely on the other side of the island from where the volcanos are. it took us about 6/7 hours to drive to the glacial lagoon from Reykjavik. so no, not near the volcanos. Plus, i'm fairly certain they have that area closed off, so you can't get close enough to get hurt

BTW there are ongoing efforts to reforest more of Iceland. (It is not completely forest-free even now.)

How do people live there? I mean, where there's a small cluster of houses. Like what do they eat? According to the video it's a long drive to some supermarket, the question is how? And do they have internet? Thanks for the video!

really? i thought it was beautiful. not many trees no, but being able to see the snow capped mountains and glacial outlets, i thought that was pretty cool. the coastline is very pretty with the black beaches, and there's these cute little churches with red rooves all over the place. it's a very different landscape to be sure, but i guess i just like variety and seeing new things
