Satina Tarthus I know this feeling. Head up, best you can, and try to remember this is temporary. Try to find something that is of interest that is all your own and far from the day to day. I remember reading a UFO book, one on the origin of common expressions, and a book on university work into the paranormal. It gave me something to think about and look forward to that was easy and fun... which was in limited supply at the time, to say the least. Sending you good vibes. :)

I 100% agree. I have PTSD as well and crippling anxiety, Major depressive disorder, and borderline personality due to past trauma, she just makes you feel so loved and content with life. whenever i have an episode or just want to feel loved i always go to her. BTW Stay strong my dude

Tincture Bloke asmr artists have to state that as asmr is not a recognised treatment for anything it’s to make sure they will not be liable for anything anyone decides to do eg replaces treatment for asmr. However this does not mean that asmr cannot help mental illnesses etc it just means that they won’t be held liable. Asmr has definitely been shown to improve mental health among many many people

I love this one. I come back to it often. It’s extremely comforting. Today I had a breakdown at the grocery store. I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease and I started to have a flare up at the store. It makes me almost crippled sometimes. So I sat in the car afterwards and just cried. Then I turned this on. Honestly some days I don’t know how I could get through without your soothing voice telling me I’m taken care of and loved, Maria. You are a gift and I thank you so much 😊💜

I suffer from Ankylosing Sponsolytis, another auto immune disorder. Night time is bad for me pain wise...I'm sick of taking pain killers every night so I feel the pain and just listen to Maria... I fall asleep within 15 min.

I saw the episode after being recorded at the radio theatre. Wish I’d got tickets for the week before! Joe lycett has talked about asmr on would I lie to you as well. ‘This is my’ round was asmr angel.

I know Maria does more subtle/natural makeup nowadays, but I love the way her eye makeup looks here! It’s classy yet dramatic and very flattering! 😍😍😍

There’s a thing Maria does when she speaks, it’s this habit of keeping space between her words, obvious space, at times that’s soooo relaxing. It’s the way she speaks in a considered way and purposefully slows down her sentences with... each... word and it kills me 😍 so relaxing. Thank you Maria, you are magical ❤️

I really like that...altho sometimes when I'm only listening I wonder if my phone died. Lol. Ian Smith this is true. I’m personally here because of panic attacks, which during the worst time can cause suicidal thoughts. ASMR is the first thing I’ve found (except for one person in real day to day life) that helps in those worst moments. Maria’s voice helps the most. I hope she knows how much what she does means to people.

Soumaya Mrabet thank you for taking the time to send kind words. Unfortunately being laid up means I don’t see anyone. Just me and my dog, she’s everything to me and we’ve been through the tough times together. We only see that one other person once or twice a week at most, usually less than an hour. It’s difficult.

I had a thought and saw it mentioned below but I thought I should say it anyway. Isn't it great how we're all here because know those exclusive Maria things? Not just the upper lip thing, but the way she says 'on' or words that have a kind of rounded C to them. How calming her K sounds are at the end of her words. The kind of lilt we hear when she says sentences like how you raise your voice enthusiasm at some parts and lower it at others. How we all love that "Okay" of hers haha. How humourous it is to us when she asks if she can come closer when she's been putting us to sleep and relaxation for years. I don't know, I just love it. There's something about Maria that's just synonymous with ASMR.

I am a medical student currently so I love how you gave traditional medicine a little shoutout there at the beginning ☺️☺️ I agree that alternative medicine can be extremely beneficial for many people, but it doesn’t always replace traditional therapies and medications. Taylor E There is nothing traditional about synthetic medications, they have been around only relatively recently in human history. The real traditional medicine is what the West calls alternative medicine -- herbal medicine (basis of modern pharmacology), dietary therapy, massage, etc. Many times it is more effective and safer than modern medications and it actually works to heal the root of the problem rather than merely suppressing symptoms. But I do agree that Western medicine does have value in certain ways!

traditional medicine has nothing to do with health in reality .. it's a business and a system that does not allow us to be healthy. we should not be healthy, but not dead - somewhere in the middle. I was very sick, but now I'm rawfoodist and have cured of diseases, and many of my friends too. but traditional medicine will never accept it .. nor will it accept energy healing, which heals the root of all diseases. medicine treats the symptoms, not the cause. I hope people will become more aware in the future 😔😔😔

MaybeJulia I agree that the things you’re talking about are beneficial to health. I personally am vegan for health reasons. But, for example, modern medicine has eradicated many diseases that devastated millions of people (polio, the plague, etc...). Sure, certain big companies and people, especially on the pharmaceutical side, have let greed overcome a desire to heal. However, the overwhelming majority of physicians are people who have an intense passion for humanity and have chosen to dedicate their life to the care of other human beings. I do not dismiss the value of alternative medicine, and I would hope that no one would dismiss the value of modern medicine either.

Just want to say thank you. I've not had a full night's un aided sleep since 2012, I stumbled accross your video of the medical examination last night and boom. Fifteen minutes in roughly and I was out like a light. Woke up naturally at about 6am fully rested and relaxed. I am going to recomend these videos to my friends. Again thank you xxx

Mystical GamerCorn as someone with many mental health disorders and many medications for said disorders, I usually rely on those to do the heavy work and use things like tea, healing baths and meditation to help on extra hard days. I always keep crystals like amethyst and rose quartz around me (if you get small ones you can carry them around with you) for healing energies and I drink peppermint and mugwort tea to help calm anxiety. Stuff like lavender helps also for calmness and sleep (if you have sleep trouble like I do) and also valerian knocks you out if you drink it as a tea.

Des, how do people use these to go to sleep? As soon as the video finishes something else starts up at full volume, perhaps there is some setting I don't know about? Best on a phone or tablet?
