I started playing when I was five My best memories are playing for my grandparents and my mother I could make them cry but they were happy hearing me play

My second cousin played the harmonica and I miss hearing him play. My grandmother raised him and we would always sit around the table or the front porch in the evenings and listen to him play.

My uncle plays the harmonica and I remember hanging out with him throughout my life and he would break it out and play. I tried to learn when I was in my early teens but quickly became discouraged and dropped it. Now, at 38, I decided to get back and do it. Such beautiful sounds come out of these tiny packages. I am starting with a cheep C Major diatonic I picked up at a Five Below store by me. If I enjoy it enough, I will look at other types of harmonica and expand my range.

When you start to love playing I would buy a tube amp it will make you a better player and you will practice more more more and you will sound great

I have been playing harp for 40 years and trust me when I say buy a decent harp, it will make playing so much easier because of less air leakage. Lee oskar are affordable for around 50.00 bucks and the reed plates can be replaced for about half the cost of a new harp. Suzuki makes quality harps as well. Good luck on your harmonica journey!
