Hey brother. Im doing it. Since last we spoke, I made arrangements for my dads care, I packed my truck with my camping gear, left out of Georgia, through Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana on my way to Montana. Currently I am in northern Illinois at a nice camp ground. I am literally sitting by the campfire watching your video. Crazy how surreal and fun this is. I always thought that I would get to retire and do this stuff pretty regularly, but despite the situation, I am having an unbelievably good time. Loved the video brother, loved it even more since I'm doing the same thing. I could be in Montana in 2 days, but thats the final destination, so I'm giving myself about 2 weeks for the trip. Im going to camp my brains out. Lol. I got the reference you made for the next meal and not only do I appreciate it, Im greatly looking foward to it. You be good, be safe and I'll see you on the next video.

Dale, why not just bring a tarp and set it up first thing to cover the back of your truck? Then you can cook on your tailgate rain or shine

Hi Bandit! I have tried using on tarp, but honestly it was a huge pain, LOL. However, I've been saving up To order one of those Hasika tarp Awnings for the back of red for just that reason my friend. Should have it pretty soon. 🤞Take Care!

Nice relaxing video, really enjoy your content. Just did my first truck tent camp of the season this weekend as well. What do you use to heat up the back of the pickup (if anything)?

Hi Tim, hope your first trip out was a good one my Friend. It depends on the temps as to what I take to keep warm. If its down in the 40's I just use a couple of fleece blankets and my 0 degree sleeping bag and that works pretty well. In the colder months I take a small space heater. I'll be sure to show everyone my cold winter set up in a future episode. Take Care!
