Yes you make a good point on trims. Back in the day, my in the 80's when i was a lil girl, i remember the adults around me saying that clipping your ends more frequently makes your hair grow faster. Which is exactly what was done to my hair! I had long hair as a child, past my shoulders, and it was considered long by most, but I can now imagine how long it could have been if my hair was only trimmed at least just twice a year at the most!

Right, I mean I get it…but part of me thinks we’re being scammed, they don’t have to take as much off as they do 😅💕

Great video. I think I understand what you mean about trims. I have opted to just “dust” my ends…. like the very tips of my ends to catch those splits or slightly uneven ends and that has helped me to retain length. Those stylists can be scissor happy.

Definitely! I feel like I always experience a set back when I let a scissor happy stylist trim my hair 🤦🏽♀️😭

Sorry to hear about your Motions experience. I don't care for that brand. It left my hair thin looking.

There's no wsy you needed that much trimmed off, and it sucks that she tried you like that. It's definitely hard to find someone who's not scissor happy. One of the things that I love about ny stylist at Ulta is that she's not like that, and I always tell her to take off what needs to go, and she always keeps it super minimal. 💜

Motions relaxer is strong. Try ORS in green jar with lye, mild

Absolutely! The ors one is very good and has helped me in keeping my hair soft after relaxer and am now reaching almost waist length hair. Definitely recommend!!

Also, I ended up with burns from the licensed stylist not adequately rinsing out the relaxer, if you can believe that

Have you ever tried using a base before relaxing and doing your edges last?

Ok so this is still a thing? I’ve been thinking about relaxing but everyone keeps jumping down my throat about cancer cancer cancer I just prefer my hair to be straight. I tried flat ironing but it reverts right back in humidity/rain.

I relaxed my hair for this exact reason, to wear it straight

The stylist would love me then lol. I stay thinking I need a cut. Thankfully my stylist will literally tell me no. She’ll do a dusting if necessary
