I think sometimes it’s good to prioritize things like med school over family for a short period of time since if you do badly at certain times like around board exams you can really mess up your entire career or end up in a horrible financial situation.

The hospital I was in, my supervisor didn't recommended it, because it causes a lot of problems. It didn't happened here, but has happened in multiple times in other hospital with negative results. On the hand the orthopedic department at the hospital I was in, were trying to set me up with multiple guys of the department especially one guy who I liked a little bit. Personally, though it was hilarious and kind of reminded me of a reverse harem in anime.

Yeah, things can get messy, especially when relationship issues come up or people break up. There could also be triangles like the Sasuke-Naruto-Sakura deal ;). Haha, sounds like you were popular with the surgeons.

Yeah, being friendly does go a long way such as, being able to help in procedures in external consulation of orthopedics. In Orthopedics, they are hardworking and also like to joke around.

Dolores Rosas I’ll have to make note of that when I do ortho rotations. Hopefully I get to help more with procedures that way. Yeah, I bet they’re hardworking- they’re at the top of the doctor totem pole! I didn’t know they liked to joke around though. I guess it helps with the stress of the job maybe.

Did you ever play games before med school, and if you did how much did you cut back on it when you started med school? Just curious for myself.

Deus Fusion I played a lot in K-12 and less in college. In med school I just played nba2k/fifa and the occasional mmorpg very rarely, but I’m not a big gamer. I know a few med student gamers but they cut down their gaming a lot in third year (clinicals). It’s still possible, but you might not have as much time for things like exercise, relationships, or other hobbies, and you probably can’t play many hours a day. The first two years and the fourth year (depending on electives) you definitely can fit a lot in, especially if gaming is your main non-med thing.
