    Been working on these types of Fords for a while now. At 18:34 and 18:38 i can see you are able to remove those bolts on ball joint and shock absorber, in my experience to replace a spring on a really rusty exemplar of these cars these are so stuck you either round the head or it just snaps. However the brake disc sandwich at 12:10 is comforting see you experience, that is very common. I call them Pizza brake discs, because i cut them like a cake diagram. What i do when the bolts won't come of or I'm to scared i will spend the next 4 hours just drilling. I loosen the whole suspension arm where the ball joint connects, driveshaft, level sensor, ABS sensor connector, stabilizer link, tie rod, and the top mount of the strut. such a pain but it is better than drilling and faster. Wheel bearing i use the same tool but on the car and not in a press, it is nice to see you do it in another way, I'll keep that noted. Usually i take the driveshaft out and the bolt on the ball joint (if possible) move driveshaft out of the way then i put the spindle back on the ball joint and start screwing the tool and get the wheel bearing out. Note to those people that are perplexed at me calling this "Volvo" a Ford in the beginning i will send you to Wikipedia or Google "Ford EUCD platform" and "Ford Global C-car Platform"

    Great video as always! I think the idea behind not applying anti-seize under the brake disc is to make sure the brake disc sits evenly on the hub, otherwise this can cause vibration when braking.

  • @ejoautovideos

    @ejoautovideos

    8 ай бұрын

    Thank you. 😊 In my experience it's actually the opposite, because rust can build up between the rotor and hub causing non-flat runout. The thin layer of anti seize gets evenly squished out from the very high pressure from the lug nuts. The face of the hub has a machined surface with high and low spots from the lathe tool. The anti seize will get squished out from the high spots, making it a near perfect metal to metal contact. However, the voids of the low spots will fill with anti seize, therefore preventing corrosion. 👍

    It's good for the price I would say. I'm missing some funtions though and I couldn't communicate with my 2001 Nissan Micra for some reason. Maybe it doesn't support very old OBD protocols. 🤷‍♂️

    Finns det något du saknar med den felkodsläsaren eller är den ”godkänd” ??

    Finns så klart vissa funktioner man saknar med som bara går att få med betydligt mycket dyrare läsare eller t.ex. Volvos egna system (Vida). Men för priset måste jag ändå säga att den är riktigt vass! Rekommenderar den som en all-round läsare. 👍

    When doing the timing belt also change the serpentine belt and it's tensioner with Genuine Volvo ones, on these engine they are notorious for the belt snaping and getting stuck under the timing belt and so totaling ths engine

    Yes, I agree with you. However in this case both aux belts where replaced just before I bought the car, so I'm probably going to re-use them as they are almost brand new. 👍
