Rejoicing in Heaven | Luke 15

Join us as we delve into Luke 15, where Jesus shares three profound parables: the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son. This sermon explores the context and meaning behind these stories, which Jesus told in response to the judgmental attitudes of the scribes and Pharisees. Discover the deeper message about grace, repentance, and the boundless joy in heaven over every sinner who repents. We examine the escalating value of what is lost and found, and the universal call to embrace repentance with a loving heart. Watch and reflect on the significance of reaching out, welcoming others, and celebrating transformation in Christ.

Thank you, my friend, for sharing this sermon. I found it thought-provoking and inspiring. When I think about the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son, I can't help but think about God's infinite grace and love for us. I was especially moved by the line in the sermon where it says, "there's more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance." I think that says it all.

I’m glad you mentioned the earlier judgments of the church because if we’ve ever done X,Y, or Z and are not allowed to join the church it wouldn’t really make sense. This is because Saul of Tarsus was bounding up followers of Christ and persecuting the church and he certainly would not have been allowed to join the church. He though is of course the Apostle Paul and is one whose writings we heavily rely on for the edifying of the body of Christ.
