She’s such a sweetheart. Only lady companion I actually like, the rest of them is a bit too unfriendly for my liking. I like Alfira too…but she doesn’t last long 😢

​@@Lunakitty1234I agree, Alfira would have been the perfect bard companion since if you don't play a bard there is no one who can play an instrument in your party.

@@embioz1 you meet Alfira first just outside the grove. You should be allowed to befriend and recruit her there and as you get closer , if the relationship is strong enough, you should be given the chance to save her when that scene comes. Everyone else is given that chance, she deserves it too.

@@Lunakitty1234 I never heard before that you can recruit her or improve your relationship with her. Where did you hear this? And what do you mean "save her"? She's safe and attends the party at the camp after you deal with the goblins.

I always have a hard time picking negative options in rpgs hence I watch videos like this to sate my curiosity 😁

The fact that your character looks like an elf version of, " your dog just died" meme makes this funnier.

Eh I saw a vid where if a barbarian fails to use their strength to break her out at the start, the next time you see her she doesn't want to join you. The clips in this vid might just be after you rescue her, since you've proven yourself at this point

The transition from karlach to wyll was just so funny to me Like something outta archer

When your social anxiety is so strong you want to be alone even in a game

It totally feels like when in dnd the DM tries their best to guide the players on the plot path, and they do LITERALLY everything to avoid it

I've just noticed that they track all eye movements too in mocap, insane.

It would be cool if you came across all the companions at later parts of the game if you don't recruit them. Like you find their bodies or you find them in Moonrise fully controlled by the cult or something.

Here's one for Laezel. I didn't recruit her but kept bumping into her. First time was when she's trapped in the goblin trap, freed her but still denied to party up. Second was at the bridge with the githyanki patrol and the red dragon, I went up to her to trigger a cutscene that resulted in the big boss man ordering Laezel's death. After killing the githyanki, I still didn't party up with her. Third time was she was hanging out just outside the creche, waiting for me to join up with her, I didn't. I then went to do the zaithisk without her but didn't do the astral prism bit with Vlaakith. When I searched for her outside the monastery, she's missing. When I finally got to the shadow lands, I saw her corpse just near the entrance, can no longer be revived. Seems that is the ultimate fate for Laezel without the MC. It was sad so I carried her corpse away from the shadow lands and "buried" her somewhere nice.

It’s the fact that you’re the reason Lae’zel, Astarion and Shadowheart are alive- Tav really knows how to work around their goals if soloing

I was playing a solo durge save when I talked to Karlach and decided to kill the fake paladins on my own, I came back to her telling her I killed the paladins. She asked me again she could join and I still said no but she said something along the lines "oh come on"and the only choice I had was "okay fine". It ended up as not a solo durge run anymore lol

Astarion's fate ends up being much worse if you reject him joining the party. 😢

i cant stand rejecting Karlach, it hurts

I don't know what happens to Gale, Karlach and Wyll if you don't recruit them, but it's so sad that Lae'zel, Shadowheart and Astarion eventually die if you leave them behind. (funny thing is I killed karlach and chopped Gale's hand, and Wyll left me on my evil durge playthrough where I sided with Minthara)

Gale likely causes a nuclear apocalypse and Karlach dies from the infernal engine. Wyll is probably punished if he doesn't find Karlach.

Man wants to be alone. Just leave him alone. XD

I do appreciate that they give you the option to make sure you're ACTUALLY sure about dismissing them and allow you to leave them behind.

I accidently let Wyll die in my first playthrough before recruiting him and to answer this- Mizora just never appears in your game in that situation

How does the story progress with Shadowhearts artifact if you never get her on your party?

She ends up dying when she goes to the goblin camp, so the artifact gets into your inventory that way.

​@@marcthomas5949Probably the same thing as when I killed Lae'zel when she got trapped by the tieflings. I assume since they are not considered companions when they're dead, so no revivals.

Once I went into act 2, I got a scene in the camp intermission where "the artifact suddenly appears in your backpack"

Honestly I'd just do this out of spite.

Some disappear at one point, while Shadowheart, Lazael and Astarion will die at one point if not recruited

It's annoying how clingy Shart gets, almost out of character and creepy how a complete stranger keeps following you around. Would have been better to give the character the artefact another way then.
