Bob and Brad demonstrate the best rehab to do after bicep tendon surgery.
Some of our astute followers have noticed me slurring my words. I am not drunk but working with Brad it would be justifiable. I had 6 infected cysts removed from my mouth (noncancerous) and I have residual scar tissue and numbness. I will try to do better. Thanks Bob.

I tore my distal bicep tendon 2/3rds off my elbow and split the tendon, it took 18 months to get back to 100% with all my pronation and supination, along with extension and flexation back and pain free. It's important to have a good pt to help you along and not force it, healing takes time. Keep up the videos.

We should have this video out I feel your procedure is less aggressive when I went through it seems it would be more effective. Still not comfortable with pronation but I will be using your routine and eventually I assume after a couple months start working more with the weights. Thank you again!

@@jennifersmiles7603 I had it Feb 16. I am getting range of motion back fairly well, but still have pain. However, as I look back it’s not as bad as a month ago, so I believe I’m making progress, but it’s not a quick “everything’s ok now”. I had a frozen shoulder a few years ago. Pain was horrible. I didn’t think it would ever improve, but little by little it did and I got my arm back. So, in my case, it seems to be a slower process than some. It took a full year to unfreeze the shoulder. I figure if I’m doing well 6 mos out from surgery I’ll be happy. Trying to be patient

Had mine repaired about six months ago. Been doing lots of curls and turning the hand over similar to what’s shown in the video. It’s gotten pretty close to as strong as the other arm. Occasionally I feel some soreness and sort of tendonitis-like feeling in and around that elbow, but I’ve kept pushing when reasonable. Don’t stop working that arm, fellas, unless it’s hurting - like reinjured hurting. Keep pushing - but be reasonable. But keep pushing.

I ruptured both my right and left distal biceps tendons (at separate times). If you stick to your rehab you'll be good. Had different procedures on each arm. The dual incision arm (left) has some residual nerve damage and the single incision arm (right) is good as new. I did wait a week longer to have my left arm done so that could be why. Either way, I stuck to my rehab and I've been back at it at the gym pretty hard for years now. It certainly sucks when it happens but it doesn't mean your gym or sports days are over.

I am three weeks post op of distal biceps tendon repair on my right dominant arm. I had my operation 19 days after the injury. One week ago I had a hospital physio consultation who told me to carry on not lifting anything, but to do some stretching exercises to assist with the ROM namely full arm extension. I am still about 25 degrees away from full extension. The primary exercise I am doing is to rest my elbow against a hard surface and let the arm extend down by gravity without applying any muscle force for a few minutes. In addition I'm doing some other weightless curling reps and overhead flex and extend exercises. I was wondering if there are more people out there post op who perhaps are more advanced into their recovery who could shed some light as to whether they managed to acquire full ROM on their arm. @ Bob & Brad thanks for preparing this video which I intend to start using after my 3 month post op review.

I tore the bicep tendon at the elbow 11 months ago and had surgery on it 7 months ago. The tendon was 6 centimeters retracted up the arm. The Dr missed the initial injury saying it was just a deep muscle contusion. After several months it was obvious something was very wrong and I had to convince him to allow me to get an MRI. There’s something wrong when your chiropractor sees the arm and immediately said “that’s a torn biceps tendon” and the Orthopedic Dr wasn’t so sure. Before surgery I couldn’t lift anything with much weight to it and I couldn’t supinate at all. It was awful especially being that it was my primary arm. After surgery and a few months of rehab I was in better shape. But I’m still recovering and my arm is maybe 60-70% of where it used to be. I’m lifting weights and slowly increasing the weights as I go. It’s not been a fun journey! I don’t recommend people go and seek out having this injury. 😜
