Regulator Maintenance on my Stoeger XM1

Ойын-сауық

A bit of maintenance on my Stoeger XM1, new seals and a tweak of the regulator. Now all working well and within the legal power limit.

Since recording this video, I have washed weighed and sorted the pellets, and that has made a huge difference to the accuracy.

I got a XM1 two weeks ago for a Rat problem, at 30m it groups under a £1 Coin using Air Arms Diablo Field Pellets, well happy with it. Thanks for your video 👍

I've just got a selection of Air Arms pellets, will see how the rifle likes them.

If you are still tinkering with it, I found an adjustment screw on the trigger to take out some of the long creep. If you push the two pins from the blade, and pull it out. there is a small adjustment screw on the top.

Hi, I live in Finland and my stock xm1 s4 does +20 shots 27 joules. Jsb exact jumbo diabolo . 15,89 grain. (.22) These are hands down best pellets for my gun.

My guess about the magazines losing accuracy is to do with the way the pellets are used as a stop, when the bolt is withdrawn the drum flicks the next pellet round under spring pressure until it hits the stop. Lead is soft so they may be deforming slightly. Each chamber could also be out of alignment by a miniscule amount. My BSA Ultra in .25 just won't group using the magazines, but single shot adapter allows one hole groups at 10m (it's only used at this range on rats).

Hi mate, I've a Remington / Snowpeak T-REX BULLPUP. 22 from Brand new. It's only doing 455fps to 460fps with 17gr pellets = 8ft lb, I need 11.5 ftlb for Ratting vermin. My regulator as a brass nut under the screw. Do I need to cracked the nut first before adjusting the. Screw.

I have noticed the magazine seems to dent the skirt of the pellet as they are loaded, could be part of the problem. Cros. Prem, polymag shorts and cros. HP. All took damage from the magazine.

I have had people say this about the magazines, not experienced it myself. I guess being a cheap rifle, quality control is not at the top of their agenda.

Hi, Thanks for the video! I have a problem with my XM1 it loses a lot of power after 20 shots. Do you think I can fix that problem with your solution?

I am having the same issue with mine I am getting 12 shots staying in the green I'm in US. So there's no regulation but I am wanting accuracy not power I have switched out the transfer port frome the 4 mil to the 3 mil can you explain how you adjusted the regulator better. On mine there's a flat head and looks like a lock down nut with it to lock it in place it's my first pcp but really happy with it

It’s my first pcp too. I just turned the flat head screw clockwise and got the power down. I made the mistake of turning too much and the power was too low, but when turning it anti clockwise it must have undone the regulator inside the tube and the rifle started leaking. So had it all apart again, tightened the regulator and adjusted again. Got the power around 18 joules with a lot of consistent shots.

If you can get a socket on the nut with an extension bar your sorted, if you can't then it's going to be a removal job 🤷🏻‍♂️

Make small adjustments like 1/8 turns cw/ccw at a time. These rifles are cheapos made in China and the build quality is only as good. Ive broken it down several times but they arent really made for it or to be tampered with in the first place.

It works a bit different here in France, but yes if it was to stay over the legal limit (20joules), I would have to register the gun with the prefecture and it would be covered on my Cat C license.

@Maddogairguns ahh I see. Didn't realise you were not in the UK. With our pitifully sub 12lbs. I've just been given one that I'm going to setup for my son as his first air rifle so I need to make sure it's a sub 12 first. Hopenyour now getting good results out of yours.

It has been a bit hit and miss, I think the rifle is really pellet specific, just trying to work out what it likes.
