An interesting fact is Australians have a huge amount of money invested in "superannuation". This is money invested in shares, bonds, property, cash etc around the world. With a population of 25 million Australians have 3.75 trillion dollars in superannuation This is the same as Germany's GDP and Germany has 83 million people and was one of the top GDP countries on your list. And with the miracle of compound interest, plus added investment, it will more than likely be over 5 trillion dollars by the end of the decade.
