It's actually a White Emigration march. White Emigration is the name for Russians who fled their homeland from Bolschevism, also after Civil War. This song was created in 1930s in Yugoslavia

Interesting, I can Imagine that maybe those Russians almost felt at home when in Yugoslavia: a Slavic Orthodox Monarchy which used Cyrillic. Wonder where they went after Tito gained power, maybe Greece ?

@@thenamesianna yes, and for similar reasons White Emigrés settled in Slavic countries. What can surprise you, many didn't stay there for so long. In 1930s, they moved more to the West - probably most popular was France. Paris became a home to many political organisations. It saved many of them, as Red Army never reached so far. However, a sadder fate met those who remained in Yugoslavia. In WW2, Germans formed a White Russian division to fight for Independent State of Croatia against Tito. Then they followed retreating Germans to Austria. And well... even though they ended up in the Allied occupation zones, many were deported to Soviet zones and subsequently executed, sent to Gulags etc... But who knows, some could also flee to Greece, Italy or somewhere else

Allies turning their back on the Royal Army. Around 1.5 million Yugoslavs died in the war, mostly Serbs in NDH. We are living the consequences of all of it today.

Altough the White Movement wasn't ideal, I find their songs and marches to be more inspirational than Red Army's. Pretty good translation tho and it's always nice to see paintings/photos while listening to old marches.
