Your Russian pronunciation has actually quite improved. A few tips: some words like всё are pronounced vsyo. It's not uncommon for Russians to omit the accent mark though, making it a little challenging. Also, in words like недержимо, the o at the end is usually pronounced more like a schwa, unless it is stressed in the word.

Thank you so much for this beautiful work of art! "The Red Army Is The Strongest" is quite a banger, but never have I ever heard a White (and English) version of the song... and it is GLORIOUS. For some reason, I feel love learning about the Russian Civil War, and seeing how these songs from both sides have different lyrics yet have the same melody really does show it was indeed a civil war. Your English version of "When We Were At War" was actually the first video I had seen from your channel (which is also awesome). Don't want to sound too needy, but can you make an English translation of "Farewell of Slavianka" (The White Army Version)? If so, that would be amazing! Anyway, good job on these videos!

It's in production, Translating from Russian to English, and making the rhyme scheme work is... well.. work, This and the other Slavic songs I've translated took months before I even listed them as options, let alone actually posted them XD. @@zixiv3144 They barely helped. They occupied Archangelsk, left soon after, and barely supplied Wrangel while he was attempting the Kuban offensive. They were of no use and abandoned Wrangel shortly after his Kuban campaign. You can barely say they helped the White Army, who were doomed by Denikin. Only reason they lost was because of Denikin. You can't deny Wrangel handled the army and internal affairs SO much better than Denikin and his horrific Moscow Directive and constant pogroms. TL:DR White Army didn't have help from the West (unless you care about the French helping the Sevastopol Evacuation.) They lost because of corrupt leadership (Denikin) They would've won if Wrangel was in control of the Southern Volunteer Army instead of Denikin. Denikin tried but sucked.

We Italians fought in the Russian Civil War side-by-side with the White Russians. In particular we had two Legions in Russia, one of them, the "Redeemed Legion" fought togheter with the Czech Legion. Unfortunately the lack of support from the west have condemned the Whites to the complete defeat.

@@nyb101 in order to win the War, the Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War should have been more consistent and rapid. Instead British and Americans sent parade units while they was discussing if really intervene or not.

@@nyb101 well kinda. We Italians as like the Czechs and even Americans had our units scattered across the whole Siberia. We fought side by side with the Czech with the Redeemed Legion, while our other military formation was tasked to secure the Trans Siberian Railway from partisans attacks. But we needed more troops to push back the commies in European Russia and save both Saint Petersburg and other cities. The Entente had a plan to land troops in Archangelsk in numbers. But somehow the soviets discovered the plan and sent troops to guard the city when the Entente troops was coming. It was thank to an Italian spy if the Western forces didn't suffered a major defeat in that approaching. That guy that I don't remember the name, warned the Entente of the soviet plans and so that expeditionary corp was retreated. What happened to the spy... It's unknown. It's probable he was captured and executed.

I was actually considering it for the poll this month and since this month has been _generally_ more Russian flavored, I'll try for the next "Songs of The Battlefield" set of songs to be more German (definitely including this song either directly or as a poll option) flavored. The Russian empire fell, to be replace the cruel leaders by even worse cruel leaders. It's a massacre that the Russian people have been lied throughout history. I hope that there will be a day that the Russian banner wil rise with a peaceful and humanitarian intention because this culture deserves it's respect and glory.

They had the upper hand, since the Provisional White Government had most support, but there was infighting and disunity in the White Army. But sadly the bolsheviks came on top, cause they were a more organized unit. If the White Army won, we would have a more friendly Russia without Lenin, Stalin, and Putin. 😢

Yes, the tune is of Arbetier von Wien and White Army, Black Baron. I’m not sure which came first. This version is meant to be an alternate version of White Army, Black Baron of course.

The regime that was horrible in handling the economy, caused much suffering for most, and was hugely just a Russian Empire v2 (but didn't have good morals at least) and killed WAY more than the Okhrana. As well as that, the White Army would've ruled way better with Wrangel in charge. 😉
