Ladies..love and lust is not enough. Dont fall for the bad guys, the ones who gives you goosebumps ect ect. Being together in a committed relationship ie marriage needs more than lust and love to survive. Respect yourself first so that the man knows how to respect you. Dont settle for selfish, abusive douchebags. The few moments of highs will not outweigh the longer periods of drama, pain, sorrow and long lasting traumas such relationships will bring.

I agree. I had to learn this the hard way, with the same man, as we went back in a forth in a vicious cycle from high school til I was 33 years old. I just kept thinking that him, and only him, could be the exception to my rules because I felt so good when I was with him. But it turned out that finally ending my connection with him, permanently and thoroughly, was the only thing that could truly solidify my own self respect and standards for all future relationships. One of my favourite quotes in the whole world helped me through this, by Cheryl Strayed...."Be brave enough to break your own heart."

I think Frances took her life because of living with him was unbearable & living without him wasn't possible .. Frances loved him soo much..but the life she imagined with Reggie was actually imaginary for a hopeless romantic girl.. So, she thought it's the best way to escape.. I really loved the movie..

From the representation in the movie I genuinely believe that Reggie loved Frances but he had lashed on her when she hit him as he did no longer hold the 'power' in the relationship. As Reggie was a gangster who had everyone fear him, he was angry that Frances did not feel that fear and therefore he tried to gain power from her. He loved her as shown in his apology when she leaves him and after her death but he did not like being her equal - he wanted her to be his property like everything else in his life. Frances was not fit for his demands and lifestyle and she was always alone with his line of work, lack of friends and a strong family and the fact that when her and Reggie had children they would be used against her by him in order to scare her into obedience. Other gangs would use the Kray children in order to blackmail and weaponize which meant that Frances would always live in fear of her family being broken up. As sad as the ending was, it was inevitable that Frances and Reg would never have their happy ending.

I agree with you even though that scene where he abuses Frances isn’t true as it says in her diaries but I do agree with you they did truly love each other and Reggie did try to change but Ron would always pull him the other way which destroyed reg and Frances but like I said before they did truly love each other xx

Frances' fate shows the danger of romanticising abusive men. You may think you are the exception and he loves only you, but the second you stand up to him and refuse to be controlled, he will abuse you too. Sick how people romanticise the fact he raped and abused her... that is not someone in love, that is someone who wants to own and control.

The guy regretted what he did in Prison and actually became a born again christian...so it has somewhat of a happy ending...but I know he missed her (there's a even a photo of him kissing her gravestone supposedly)

I'm frankly surprised at the comments section. He didn't love her and he treated her like a possession, was abusive, and there is still some talk that it was murder not suicide. And to then not respect her parents wishes at her funeral...just awful. It makes me feel sick that she is still buried in that plot and not with her family. This was NOT a love story.

it is your opinion. Different sources have different information. Some say that they were terrible gangsters, and others that they gave a lot of money to orphanages and were fair people. films about them are the vision of the filmmakers and the sources they used. I really liked the film and watched interviews with the Krays’ friends. They confirmed that everything in the film is accurate.

That is your opinion he was not abusive if actually watched documentaries about them it says in her diaries he never abused her and they did truly love each other and I agree with the fact that she wasn’t buried under the name Shea but the family go against his wishes at the funeral all he wanted was for her to be buried with her wedding ring and after he left the grandmother took it off and I think that is disgusting he truly loved her and they couldn’t do that for him

He ruined her. I know she was already an addict but he pushed her into killing herself. *lot's of people don't agree with me but he married her but was he a good husband? Lol he wasn't even with her as a husband and abused her. No person is without fault and people take bad choices but that doesn't mean you get to not accuse the culprit. There are so many people in this world who are depressed and addicted but if they marry a gangster like him with consent does it mean the man is not to be condemned?
