Regal 42 FXO Yacht Tour & Review | YachtBuyer

Is the Regal 42 FXO the fastest flybridge boat ever made? We can’t think of many that can top is 45-knot maximum speed. If we’re wrong, let us know in the comments below.
In this walkthrough tour and review of the Regal 42 FXO, filmed during the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, Jack Haines discusses the boat’s scintillating performance and runs through all the features on deck and within the interior.
You don’t see many flybridge boats of this size on the market any more and the cockpit and flybridge aren’t enormous but Regal has used the space senislby. On the lower deck there is the option to have a lower saloon or an extra bathroom to serve the guest cabin, which feels like the better option.
You can have the boat with IPS but surely the whole point is to go for the triple Yamahas and be safe in the knowledge that you own the fastest flybridge on the water.

Regal makes excellent boats so I'm with Jack and glad to see this part of the market being served. Regal is a Florida based company so it's market it up and down the coast and out to the Bahamas. Remember the Bahamas are only 50 or so miles off Miami so a fast shallow draft boat like this will let you zip over and then cruise around the shallow waters of the Bahamas. Europeans tend to forget that North American rivers and coasts are much shallower than European. On average the Mississippi is only 9-12 feet deep - 3 - 4 meters. The Rhine can be 20 meters deep as is The River Thames. The Med is also much deeper than the North American Eastern continental shelf. The American West coast as almost no navigable rivers, is also very deep but has few islands. The first island you encounter sailing out of San Fransisco is Japan. Hawaii is actually 2500 miles of Mexico.
Finally, a boat in this size range that has some performance! Job done, boys 👍(nice haircut, Jack) 😊

I'm not a small boat lover but you have a lot to work with here! You enclose the cockpit get regal to put heat and cooling so it becomes an extension of the main deck! Get rid of the saloon dinning table 8n saloon to cockpit and then you have a proper saloon seating for 6 to watch tv and get rid of the lower deck kitchen and put bunks as a third cabin if they can! Then you have a 50 foot boat in 42 feet! I no they can do all that but not sure on the third cabin maybe there is not enough room! You could leave out the lower kitchen and put a couch that folds out to make a double bed! That would work! But enclosing the cockpit and putting heating and cooling and dinning table to make it the dinning area on the boat and a proper saloon with tv and no dinning table is the option I'd go for! Great design for 42 feet! But 60 foot to 85 foot is the range I love! Happy sailing all and God bless all 🙏❤🛥⚓
Trying to steal Aquila sales. I like it
Nice. Do you know Glacier Yachts? Alu even for 48 feet with IPS
Interesting concept. Fly and outbourd. But might be too load.
I’m not a fan of the large boats with multi outboards. I get it, It’s a win/win. Extra space and the outboard EPA loophole. Any idea on the maintenance cost difference on twin diesels vs triple outboards?

Probably not much in it in the grand scheme of things, I don’t imagine - Jack

@@Yachtbuyer doesn't the determining factor come down to initial purchase cost & type of use (long vs short trip) to determine either diesal inboard or outboard of this type?
what are those 2 #'s representing at 4 second clip (161K and 204K)? on the product board.

The show discount for each boat, if I remember correctly - Jack
Excellent review as always, BUT! For a $1000000+ there is a lot better boats that become small yachts compared to this. Galeon 300, 360 and 400 all more in the quality and design department! Better value for the money!

Yep, every time I look at a boat around this size I can’t help but comparing to the Galeon range. The 400 or 440 fly is hard to beat at this size and price.

yeah it's interesting how they are postioning their pricing. It's also tough competition w the Merry Fisher 1295 Fly which I think is best bang for buck in size and type.

Can’t agree more. I can see 600k range but that’s just ridiculous pricing. Not worth the money. Just my opinion.
