Its not too expensive to get into. Harbor freight and eastwood sells reasonably priced guns. Check craigslist for a used oven(the kind you bake food in) the powder isn't too expensive either and a pound goes a long way. I've powder coated some parts on my bike and some firearms. Sadly the oven I have is a compact one that fits in an rv so I can't fit a whole rim in it and close the door, but hey can't complain for an oven that cost me $50. I did an ar15 in a candy purple for my friend. Video of what it looks like on my channel. I think it was maybe $50 in powder that is including the base and the semi gloss clear powder, and I have enough left over to do probably 10 more.

Also I'd recommend the eastwood gun over the harbor freight gun as it has two settings. The harbor freight gun works fine with a single base. Color, but once you go to do a top coat it doesn't have enough voltage to get get the top coat to stick well without really working hard. When I did the ar15 some of the clear topcoat came loose while putting it in the oven.

Same and you should look into cerakoting at home for smaller sets the stuff is amazing!

Bolt holes are suposed to be masked off now when you torgue them its gonna brake the paint and the torgue is going to go wrong also same think with the back surface that mounts to the hub

curb rash sucks. Barely clipped my wheel yesterday in a really inconspicuous spot but i cant stop seeing it every time i walk by the car and its really bothering me

Why is it that in the US they use BBS's and and in all other countries they use Enkei's? they also look completely different when you compare them side by side.

Quick tip for taking off plasti dip next just use brake cleaner and a rag or whatever and it comes off super easy

You know it's a powder coat job, not paint,this diesnt do the same with "paint correction"

Very good job man love the color, you make it look easy. I have 2 questions for you: does the job weld come off at all during the heating time also what job weld did you use? 2 when your powdered coating the rims do you lose any of the color when you lay it down on the oven rack? I see you got 2 different powder coats, do you first play down the base coat (color) and then the clear coat over them, and throw it in the oven? Or do you bake it after applying base coat, and then put on clear, and bake it ?

What did you spray them with? Brake parts cleaner? Paint stripper?

The Brembo gold is a Brembo color I call dirty gold. It’s not a Subaru thing, it’s a Brembo thing. You can powder coat at home but not paint your wing? I understand....powder is more forgiving but you still need to know what you are doing. Good job!
