You are correct on both points 😉

Electrolytic capacitors, generally speaking, have a duty cycle of around 2000 hours, depending on task, placement and temperature rating. We use a Soundtracs CP6800, circa 1984/5. The difference, sonically, pre and post cap replacement was vast. Doing so also returned the routing computer to service. So, it does make a difference, when doing so is actually required.

Is it Stuart Elliot in Brum ,,? And where are you based ? Cos I need your contact details please , as I still get asked to work on SOUNDTRACS consoles, can I pass them to you ? Hi Tim. This is the one near Skegness. I actually got a few pots from you that needed changing. It's still being used daily, got the meter bridge sorted out too after the channel strips

The tracks are super fragile and easily damaged. The radial caps and fusible resistors require extra care as it's super easy to damage the through plating and lift the pads away from the tracks.

We still need to do something with the box of bits eh
