Rich I want to come out and put some hours so you can set back and enjoy the flight
For now, the paint reminds me of the old Golden West Airlines of the 70's and 80's. This is going to be an awesome bird for someone operating out of a small grass field or the bush with the VG's and extra power

The plane looks Good Rich!! Does it have dual electronic ignition? Instead of a paint job why not consider a WRAP!

Not planning electronic ignition. Not a bad idea on wrap - will have to check into that.
Is this trip to CYKA already done? Would make a great video

Nope. Headed that way soon!
Rich, what does the "big" engine and prop do to the CG? Should this mod come with electric trim or does it matter?
@FlyingwithRich
Жыл бұрын
It moves it forward some, and not uncommon to need some ballast when you upgrade. This one is still being built up so don't have the final W&B yet. Thanks for watching!
We have a 182 M with high time engine and have been thinking about a similar upgrade. What is the ballpark cost of the engine and prop upgrade? Does it change the weight and balance much?
@sleektruck22
Жыл бұрын
You're looking at roughly $75-80k for the upgrade with a reman engine. Weight and balance are not effected too much as the 6-cylinder engines weigh pretty close to each other. Really a great upgrade for a 182.
👍👨✈👍
I remember breaking in the IO550 in my Maule after an overhaul...Than 182 is one super cool rig!
What is the range of this airplane? At what mph?
Really look to seeing the end result

Hey Rich, with the upgrade are they hard to slow down?
@FlyingwithRich
Жыл бұрын
Haha - nope. Still slows down like a Skylane!
Rich can you comment on how this works from a regulatory perspective. Weight and balance, airworthiness certificate. Surely it no longer conforms to its original type certificate, what happens?
@FlyingwithRich
Жыл бұрын
All the mods we are doing come via Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from different companies who did the necessary engineering to get FAA approval for the upgrade/install.
@Ophidian14
Жыл бұрын
Of course, an STC.....thanks!!!
Good afternoon, Is this plane still available please? If so what is the asking price please?
Now it needs a beautiful livery 😊
Yeah, that’s the irony. A modded mid 70s 182 like this will out perform a brand new one in every way for half the price. Not sure why Cessna won’t get a clue and improve their product in any significant way.

@@FlyingwithRich Love watching the videos and virtually coming along for the ride. Hopefully soon I'll have my Special Issuance 3rd Class and be back in the air after too many decades. The 182 was always one of my favorites when I was doing my Commercial Training way back when out of KSEE
wow nice . she's a beaut Clark
Fun to see what I would call the perfect first plane. Complex, yes. HP, yes. But, if I could afford it, I'd come get it.
@MasterCarguy44-pk2dq
Жыл бұрын
High performance. Throw gear in and now its complex. Having a prop pull with throttle and rpm to many doesnt make it complex but you can slide with that.😊. This what I would want but with at least a partial panel traditional 3 pack for back up, like what you find diamond DA42 twins, got that three pack on top in the middle of panel.
Would you sell it as is? Or has OCR already completed the avionics and interior upgrade?
