Reflexive verbs in Italian | Coffee Break Italian Podcast S2E06

In this lesson we revise different forms of verbs including reflexive verbs and gerunds. We look at some useful reflexive verbs that you would use to describe your daily routine such as lavarsi, mettersi and divertirsi. We also look at vocabulary for making arrangements and use it as an opportunity to revise the gerund.
Coffee Break Italian Season 2 is aimed at learners who have already completed Season 1, or those returning to Italian after some time (A2 level). Joined by Italian teacher Mark, native speaker Francesca, and learner Isla, you’ll learn to talk about the present, the past and the future, master a range of grammar topics, and build your range of expression to cope with many different situations in Italian.

I do not understand when to use this form; lavarci. What is the difference between that and ci lava or me lavo. Thank you.

Ciao 👋 The reflexive verb "lavarsi" requires reflexive pronouns in order to conjugate the verb. The full conjugation of this verb is: io mi lavo, tu ti lavi, lui/lei si lava, noi ci laviamo, voi vi lavate, loro si lavano. As you can see, the verbs change ending depending on the subject, so does the reflexive pronoun that precedes them. Hope this answers your question! 🙋
