Reflection and Resolution | Russell M. Nelson
The beginning of a new year is the perfect time for reflection on lessons we have learned as well as resolution to become the people we want to be.

"The title of my message tonight is “Reflection and Resolution,” for indeed this is a time for reflection on activities of the past, and for resolution pertaining to the future. This evening is a real milestone-the first Sabbath day of new semester, of a new year, and of a new decade.
As we all contemplate resolutions for a new year, let us reflect on such a special behavioral blueprint given by revelation to the Prophet Joseph Smith during the Christmas-New Year holiday season of 1832-33.
'These verses from section 88 are worthy resolutions equally applicable in our day for this new year and for the next decade. The Lord said:
Cease from all your light speeches, . . . from all your lustful desires, from all your pride and light-mindedness, and from all your wicked doings. . . .
See that ye love one another; cease to be covetous; learn to impart one to another as the gospel requires.
Cease to be idle; cease to be unclean; cease to find fault one with another; cease to sleep longer than is needful; retire to thy bed early, that ye may not be weary; arise early, that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated.
And above all things, clothe yourselves with the bond of charity, as with a mantle, which is the bond of perfectness and peace.
Pray always, that ye may not faint, until I come. Behold, and lo, I will come . . . and receive you unto myself.' [D&C 88:121, 123-126]
Upon each of you, my beloved brothers, sisters, and fellow students, I would like to invoke a blessing as you commence this new decade of your lives. Learn from your personal reflections. Let them help you understand who you are, from where you have come, and what God expects you to be. Let your resolutions strengthen your future. Cherish the privilege of education in this institution. Feast on the words of Christ. Apply his teachings in your lives. Then you will achieve your greatest potential for good. You have been reserved for this time and place in order that the nations of the earth shall be blessed through your efforts." - Elder Nelson

Exactly what I was thinking before I read your comment. This is why we need to believe in Christ and help persuade others. The Gospel is perfect and can perfect us, if we will listen earlier on.
I felt like if I could love the Lord thru Loving the people I work for I could do a better job than I had done before. President Nielson Reminds me of the need to strive to work for excellence.

President Nelson pioneering Open Heart Surgery through his understanding of laws in the scriptures is so intriguing. I realize this must apply to all things. Keeping with the laws of all things is probably the key on being successful. Spiritually and physically the principle of following the laws will lead to success. The laws must be carefully studied and then followed and will lead to success in our endeavors. Amazing how this principle seems so obvious but it is not.

Myself I see these things he is talking about true so true. I believe this is one of the Mysteries many people have not figured out. So many things apparate on these laws of the universe. Take the law of loving one another. This is for most humans is a difficult law to live. Once you have asked God for help and strength to live this law it becomes easier with time. It is well worth the effort in living this law. You will find more joy and happiness also piece to your mind and heart. You move so much closer to the Lord then what you where before. You will be inspired more, and be able to see more light in this cold and dreary world we live in. Before I had no idea how it would change my life for the good. It has been amazing! Now I got a glimpse of living some laws of the universe I have a desire now to keep learning more and more.

I wrote a book called 'the power of unity', God willing, it will be in bookstores in September 2021. God told me only the purified will abide the truths it will give, D&C 38:7-8. God told me to be a vegan is a good way to be purified. I have been a complete vegan for about three months now, soon I hope to get even sucrose out of my diet. The sub-title is: 'and other insights from God'.

Be careful with your “own revelations” DC says we need to consume everything in moderation and meat sparingly. We need to be careful to make ourselves prophets.
