True. But , they’ll charge you an annual fee as if personized plates. Also , you won’t get the correct series of Lettering & Numbers. Vs. stock OG’s .

How would you go about restoring an 80's CA "Sunset" plate? I want to restore mine but the sunset graphic is a bit trickier.

i used a foam paint roller to go over mine cause it goes over the letters evenly and i use a paint brush to touch up and spot possible missed

Nice work! I want to restore a 1983 Georgia plate for my 85 SS Monte Carlo, problem is they have stickers or print at the top that would sand off. I’ll probably have to find a nice original, for some reason the 83 Georgia plates fade out weird. Check them out on eBay.

Nicely Done. I ordered a small JOE license plate for my E Bike but it's the wrong colour so I will be repainting it red with white lettering. I bought red spray paint and clear coat already but I forgot to get primer and I will use white model paint for the letters and use my finger tip instead of a paint brush. Thank you for this video :)

I used a urethane base coat One shot striping paint for the letters And urethane clear coat That’s what I would recommend will last another 25 years

Nice job! I'm getting personalized black plates soon. What do you recommend i use for a clear coat on them when they come in? I want to use something that will not yellow or crack from the sun and other elements. Is there clear coat in a spray can I can use that you think would last long?

They have 2k clear coat in a can that comes with hardener built in and activated once pressed (shelf life is 2 days once activated) can get it on Amazon! I recommend

Monster good job. Did you use epoxy or oil-based enamel? What if I don't have the spray equipment? My yellow on black refurb was done in enamel and is chipping at the corners and where the vintage metal frame sits.

Sweet, I going to definitely hit you up for my daughter's plates. need to hit you guys up on some other restoration for her car as well.

Does the international badge bother anyone else that it’s not straight? It bugs me!

I can assure you that, despite how quick and easy the application of the yellow paint looked on the embossed numbers and letters, if you are not an expert with hand-lettering you will NOT get such smooth and clean results!

Yuup but luckily ebay has kits for the lettering for 30buks just strip the paint sand and paint then apply the letters numbers. DgDistributions on ebay had mine for yrs good quality

Ya did a nice job on that plate....Too bad 'ya didn't use a nylon washer between the bolt head and plate....Would't have busted the new paint off the plate upon tightening down....

It is very nice, although I think it's too glossy. Maybe semigloss is more accurate, I don't think they ever looked like this.
