Awesome Nurk! Stoked for this and stoke for Gyroflow! I think using RSGo over a Hypersmooth clip is to get rid of the "jolty" turns and stuff. I feel like you could hit it with RSGo on the lowest stabilization settings and get good results.

Great review, I do see a difference between RSG1 and RSG2 stabilization. Hopefully comes as some sort of update for those already with RSG1! They need to implement a clip merger that lets you stitch split clips together. Reelsteady joiner works great for this but having it built into the GP player app would be awesome.

Sup, been using RSG1 for quite a long time now and, i dont know if its just me, but I am not seeing any difference in terms of stabilization with the comparisson of both clips. But, I definitely think its awesome the changes they did with the workflow (stack options, no more annoying and adjusting setpoints, export to a different folder, ease of use, etc...) and that for us who use this profesionally is VERY important. Other than that the results of the footage are still the same (which have been always great). Thanks Paul

Thanks for the heads up Nurk. Noticed some of your footage skips-a-frame (ex. 10:00 - 10:09 ..toward mountain peak and a few other places). I have that happen to some of my footage as well. Never sure if it's something in the export settings, KZread algorithm playback, or something else? Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

ohh, really liking the new lens correction option, the rushing edges dont look good for most of my flying, the horizon while yawing, is very distracting the way it rushes in at the edges. hope it doesnt cost too much to upgrade.

I can't wait for it - being able to quickly tweak the stabilization, then batch process all my clips, means I can start editing QUICK...I'm not a pro, but FPV is huge time killer, so efficiency in post makes more time for flying, building, working to pay for this stuff, and of course you know, the whole family thing, etc.. ;)

Does it work with older GoPros now like the 5? I've got a ton of 5 blacks that I'd like to use on beater quads for riskier flights like diving waterfalls and long range because then it's not real loss if it goes down.

As most of you already know, RSG2 / GoPro Player with V2 is now available. Some of you have probably used it already. My question is, what is your best settings, on-camera and in RSG2, in order get best results for cinema. I've asked the same question on a RSG2 FB group, and one guy said the best settings "God mode: 16:9/linear/hypersmooth off". His reason for this is this brings out the best image, no stretching in post. I said to him, doesn't it crop in too much then and you don't get full 16:9 anymore? He said "cropping shouldn’t be a factor if it’s taken into account during your flight. RSG edge distortion is absolutely horrid when your subject has any sort of straight lines." He also said his settings in RSG2 " i actually take down the cropping to 0 & smoothing to about 5. You should try it out and see...cropping at 0 only reduces the frame by a few pixels on X&Y." Then he added: "you should check out some examples of mountain surfing to see some prime examples as to why 4:3 wide looks bad...you’ll be able to see how the stretching of the sky and mountains takes away from the beauty of the scenery." Then another person said the following in regards to whether using HS on or off: "There is an excellent reason to shoot HS on, video compression. A stabilized image is easier to compress, so more of compression bits will be used to store image quality, rather than having to preserve image shake. While HS will crop the image some, that is very similar crop the RS will likely do, unless you fly really smooth. HS High crops around 10%, it is fixed. RS minor corrections on top HS High will not crop too much more. I shoot all my FPV with 5.3K 4:3 24p Wide HS High, Protune Flat, EV -0.5, fix WB 5500, then use RS 2.0 in post. If you have ever seen the dancing clouds effect, where the clouds don't seem as stabilized as the rest of the image (after RS), that is an compression artifact that HS can fix. I know this is along comment, would like to hear back from you @nurkfpv and other professionals in the industry.

It looks to me like the RSgo2 clip on the left is more color graded than the RSgo1 clip.

I'm assuming you still have to pay for rsg even though it's on the GoPro player. I feel like that now gyro flow is out and free. That would be a better option for for your average Joe. GoPro need to just make it available for free. Since we already have to buy the camera. They could just add it as a built in feature.

I highly doubt GoPro will upgrade v1 users to the new application. I bet they will make us buy it over again, or probably include it for free to their subscription clients.

I got the Email from them, to just update (since i bought thew previous Go version) After following the instructions below it says: buy Reelsteady or disable Premium functions (which basically is reelsteady) I mean log in worked; but i bought Reelsteady Go with another Email as the apple account; might that be the reason!? Or do i have to delete the old Reelsteady Go? (dont like to try since the new one isnt working yet) PLEASE HELP

Very interesting. Since it is working on a low end MacBook Air, would the latest iOS or Android smartphones be powerful enough to run such program? Stabilising short clips on the go would be great. Although if I get it right, you can now shoot with hypersmooth on, share directly what can be and then run RS2 on a computer to get smoother results.

gyroflow will run on android and ios (it already works on android if you compile yourself)

@@MathieuTerzian yeah an old one. Well my apple watch is more powerful than a phone from 10 years ago. Same shit. Yes it would be nice if it would be accessible from smartphone but it would have to be ported the code and who on mobile would spend 100€ on an app. Even if it's less the market is too small on mobile, there are just a few exceptions like you and they won't put in that much work for something that won't outweigh the profits.

Knowing gopros customer interaction I’m extremely doubtful there will be upgrade path or discount for anyone that already has RS1 unless they’re a major influencer or content creator. Every normal person out there that pays full price yearly for every new but barely different camera is going to have to do the same with their software as well

It doubt it will be a free upgrade for RSG1 users. It is a totally new program designed by different people.. I am hoping for a discount code though lool.

My only gripe with ReelsteadyGo has been Horrendous lag with Davinci Resolve when Editing stabilized footage. I just don't make enough money from drones to justify a monster PC. Would be great to see how it runs on say an I5 and a 4Gb GPU.
