Camera is great . Great night shots on motorbike as well. I use mine as my dash cam / helmet cam basically so mostly have it on high shutter speeds incase i need to recall an incident or reg plate where blur isnt gonna be useful to me... I know this isnt a gopro vs dji post but Battery life is almost double of my old go pro. And dji is so responsive and stable , then theres the mounting system then front touch screen for quick settings change without need to unmount from helmet etc etc

Your footage with this camera looks amazing! I see really good details (for an action cam) and much less warping than from other people. Definitely will follow your advice)

Yeah the dji has less fisheye than most or maybey all others per frame and quality

Good video "j". It boils it down quickly without a lot of confusing details, that we novices would be confused with. BTW, I would like to see a video with detailed video stills that actually break down how settings effect my video details. I recently watched another video about this camera that did a side by side comparing 25fps and 48 fps, but still video shots. I couldn't see a measurable difference, and was left wondering if it would make a more noticeable difference in actual action video. That's one thing I'm curious about, among others.

Thanks for this. Would like to know if you have a low light mode settings recommendation... Also with your Ultrawide and Slow Mode. You changed the FPS, but didn't change the Shutter Is the rule for shutter being double that of FPS, a minimum recommendation? Cheers

There’s a lot of good ones. I use the DJI stock ones but they tend to fall off pretty easy so I’d recommend looking into other options but to be honest they are the only ones I’ve tried!

Any insight onto ND filters and the shutter settings with them? I've got a set but it's hard to know which one to pull out when. E.g. low light, high light etc.

If it’s mid day and sunny and I want 50 shutter I’m pulling out the ND64. If it’s cloudy ND32

Loved and needed the walkthrough, I have a question though. When you said you set the camera to +1 sharpening and noise reduction, I'm confused by this because when shooting in RAW (it may not be the same as Dlog) aren't those settings ignored?

It's not able to shoot in RAW. In case of D-Log 10 Bit it's using H.265 to encode the video stream. But I have a hard time increasing sharpness and NR as well. But more because 0 is already to strong to my eyes.

Hello Jackson, I have just watched your fantastic video. I have been using my IPhone 6s Plus to record all my KZread content, but the camera on my phone has just started the 'death wobble'. I am looking for a super simple, almost 'point and go' like my IPhone camera to keep making my videos. All I need to do is record myself working on my bench and talking to camera at my table. I use a Blue Yeti mic when I'm talking to camera at my table. would you be able to recommend me a camera that would be as good (or better) than my now dead IPhone 6? Any help would be fantastic from you, maybe you could have a quick look at one of my videos to see what I do for KZread? A quick note, I hate tech, so the more simple the better and I'd like it packaged like a action camera rather than a delicate 'proper' camera . Thank you very much🙂

What setting can you recommend for night mode?

It's worth noting that Action 4 supports stabilization using Gyroflow

Been loving my action 4! just wish you could name the custom presets and their were few more, With sets for normal night modes, Day and night Long Exposures, Fast action and what not i feel i filled them up quite quickly haha

can i also use this settings for the dji osmo 3. It's good to know that you are healing! I missed you in the SICKOS videos.

Hi, when set the ISO between 100-400 the camera got really dark. It is darker if I turn my shutter.so I left it auto but it is still dark

Depends on your shooting situation but iso 100-400 with a lower shutter should be all you need if outside and it’s not passed twilight

what about export settings ?

if you set the shutter manually ..what do you do if you re passing through a shadow area? or some clouds show up..and you are motovlogging let s say. You stop every minute and change the settings?

Good question! I’d keep my shutter locked and my iso on auto between 100-400. That way we keep the motion blur look and the iso is compensating for the lighting change

It’s shouldn’t be an iso problem. ISO 100-400 is relatively low making the image darker actually. My guess is your shutter is too low. Probably around 1/50? You need to compensate the low shutter with an ND filter or just set the shutter on auto

1/240 with a max ISO 400 - good luck when the light starts to fade!!

there's actually no real point to choosing 16:9 over 4:3 in photo mode, 4:3 will just give you a bigger picture that you could crop the exact same 16:9 out, it just does this in camera for you. Only difference is it gives you a better preview of the shot your lining up.

you only shoot in 120 if you want slow motion. it's not the setting to use for normal street vlogging. 4k/60 is the best to use.
