You are me over 25 years ago bro. Me and my Dad still talk about a fish that spooled me. He still asks me “so what u reckon that fish was?”

I reckon it was a Tuna. My brother got spooled few years ago when he threw a floating pilchard out and a massive bluefin dive bombed on it and ran so hard he got spooled on a 6000 size reel within 30 secs... Keep up the awesome work mate.

The truly amazing thing that I see is that the reel didn't grenade on you. That is a testament to how crazy good the reels have developed with the new technology they have.

A mate hooked something down deep on a live yakka. It kept circling for ages until my mate put his weight behind the line to lift the fish and then the fish took off. Massive speed that just kept going. The line snapped when we used a towel to put the brakes on the reel, probably snapped near the terminal tackle as we wound back hundreds of metres. The speed of the fish had pushed the sinker back a hundred metres just from water pressure. We think it was a massive tuna. That was forty years ago and I remember it still. Monsters be down deep where the dead men lie.

I had the same thing happen to me like 10 years ago and I will never forget it. The question of what species it was that spooled me is definitely the part that makes it hard to forget.....but fuels the fire to keep fishing. Awesome video as always Briggsy!

Damn man that was heavy! I've been spooled 2 times once was a 6ft blacktip shark on my bait rod and the 2nd was a 7'+ tarpon from the beach, but at least I got to see what they were..... keep up the great work with your videos and time to bring the big gear next time!

Don’t wait a week re-spool that reel 😂. I know it’s tough on the body heck I am still working on getting back into that shape again. Epic stuff as usual!

Must have been a huge Tuna! Wow, never seen something hit that hard and spool that quickly!
