Reduction of Order (Additional Homogeneous Equation Example)

This ordinary differential equations video works an additional second-order homogeneous equation example using the method of reduction of order. Given one solution from the fundamental solution set, we help you to find the general solution. We work through the example fully and explain the substitutions used as we go, reducing the equation to a first-order differential equation. We use reduction of order to turn the equation into a separable first-order equation, and then solve.
