Can you cover some npr rendering in redshift and how to have a sharp 2d look? i know that they're working on a tool for it but until then what do you think is the best way of doing it ?

Great tut, thanks guys. I've got an animation of a flower blooming & I've saved it as an animated RS Proxy. I can't seem to get the animation offset to work when I bring it back in to mograph, they all just animate at the same time. Any ideas?

Anyone has an idea on how can i time offset proxies animation across clones? i tried using time offset on a shader effector but that doesn't work.

HELP! Just starting to mess with proxies and for some incredibly frustrating reason, none of them are showing up in my final render. They're there in bucket mode, and progressive. But the moment I try to render them out to the picture viewer nothing shows up. Any info or ideas as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated!

can you guys tell me how I can render out a mate for an object. I'm doing an animation in AE, and I wanna separate the object from another object. I can't find anything on google please help me. Chad. you are the person that made me use redshift, thank you

Hello I have been trying to set cloner with 4 different of proxies, but when i'm trying to set all of them to be positioned on the polygon centers of some object, when I set the order to be blend, it doesn't arrange it in the right order. It scatters them in big mess. Am i'm doing sth wrong maybe? is cloner is the right tool for cloning 4 different proxies? the cloner with the 4 objects before they were turning into proxies (separately of course) works fine, but it is impossible to work because it makes the scene very slow. thank you!

Hey chad one last question in the last part of this tutorial what if i wanted to assign different materials to each grayscale tone instead of just changing the colors ? i have this project where im using grayscale displacement maps and i wanted to assign different materials to each color space

  • @5evenasn

I know i could use ramp and highlight each tone at once and later use each map as a matte but this isnt very procedular and might not be verry accurate do u know a better way of doing it

How do you randomize color on shaders with proxies on the cloner though? Nothing really seems to work with object color id, or normalized object id, etc. I have my material on the proxy set to Object. The material has been applied to both the object within the cloner and I've also tried applying to just cloner and neither works.

vry cool stuff; thanks for sharing. Do you by any chance have some advice on how to recreate the mograph's multishader in redshift? I've tried the c4d shader but am not getting anywhere.

This tutorial explains some of the random techniques that you can use in Redshift. Is there a particular workflow you are wanting to learn?

Hey Chad, thanks for getting back! I'm busy on a project which has a cloner which contains a "screen" (about 300 clones of it each of which has a different random video playing) to achieve this I've created 1 material with a multi shader (mograph's) containing all the several videos and then just assigned that to the clone with a random effector. Since I am exploring redshift, I've tried to "translate" that workflow to redshift but with no success so far, so I was wondering if you knew a specific method to have one shader cotaining several images that can be applied to an object inside a cloner in order to randomly have a different pict/video assigned to each clone. Not sure how clear my explanaition is... Thanks for the help anyways.

Gotta ask... Do you find that you spend 15 minutes obsessing over optimizing render settings and where your samples go for speed only to get like a minute in faster render time?

am facing issue with proxies, i want to make a football stadium crowd so i used red shift proxy with multiple character animations, and i'v randomized the "position scale and rotation" characters with cloners, but i cant find a way to randomize the animations, i'v used shader effector and random effector and played with the time range with noise it's not fixing the issue, NOTE: i'v baked the characters animations to key frames before export to redshift proxy and red shift proxies have rang and frames after importing, Can you help me please and if any one have solution please tell me ... thank you in advanced and big thanks for awesome videos

It doesn't fucking work... 1 month of producing absolutely nothing thanks to all this. I'll switch back to Octane... But every major renderer has a major problem. It sucks. PS: The problem is: The fact I put the proxy in a cloner makes the proxy act like it was a complete mesh. It lags, then crash even with relatively simple meshes.
