Why does everyone keep saying that guy gave the bat to the kid? He didn't. He just let the kid and his dad get a picture with it. The guy that caught the HR ball kept the bat. It was on twitter earlier showing the guy who caught the HR walking out with the bat. He only let the kid and his dad get a picture with it.

No he didn't. The guy let that kid's dad get a picture with his son holding the bat, but they gave the bat back to the guy who caught the HR ball.

I don’t think it’ll take more than a sincere thanks! Mookie seems like a real good, down to earth guy who loves and respects the game! Maybe an autograph ball I’m sure he’d be happy with incase you got 40-50 and get Rookie of the year next season, or take him out to a good Vegan restaurant around Cincinnati! I know he likes food and is vegan.

Its great to know that it means this much to fans too. It just proves that baseball fans are the best sports fans there are. They take the time to understand the nuance of the game and they take the time to recognize that when it is all said and done there are things about this game that are more important and are going to be remembered longer than who won the NL West division in 2021.

I think it’s because there’s a certain romanticism that goes with baseball that you just don’t get with other sports…. Every ball player has fantasized and played that scenario in their mind of being in a World Series game 7, bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, bases loaded, down 3 and YOUR standing at the plate and somehow you catch lightning ⚡️⚾️⚡️⚾️⚡️⚾️⚡️⚾️⚡️⚾️

During the 2018 playoffs in Boston, after a game Mookie on his way home stopped and bought a large amount of pizzas and delivers them to a homeless camp area around Boston Common. The man was nothing but pure class while he was in Boston

At the end of each day or night Players should be united together & for Mookie to do that for someone who he probably has never met is just incredible. I know Covid is thing & you can't really have that much communication w/Fans but I wish there were more of those Fan | Player Interactions/Exchanges would change Life | Sports(MLB).

As a Boston Red Sox fan, this is the Mookie we knew. Great to know that LA hasn't changed him much

Don't believe the Republican bullshit about the people of California in general and of the people of Los Angeles, in particular. I grew up in a predominantly Jewish community in Culver City, California and EVERYONE got along very well. Californians are NOT perfect but as a group I think that they are wonderful people.
