I'm glad Pogo didn't add in the "here's Johnny!" part to the song. I feel like that's one of the only things a lot of people remember about this movie, and it's nice that he showed love to scenes other than that one. Truly, this is a masterpiece. Best of his so far imo.

This is so different from Pogo's usual style, and it's really forced me to compare. Like, honestly, this to me articulates anger. Like, as if Pogo made this because he was mad and had to get it out somehow. The use of The Shining in particular, the heavier focus on percussion, the solo, echoed piano tones creating a sense of isolation, the guitar creating a sound of nervousness, the use of Jack screaming "Danny," to create fear, the background synth samples creating an ambient tension, and finally the axe swings making up the main backbeat. it all just comes together and really makes me thing this song was made out of a dark place and feelings of anger. But through all of it, the upshift in the "Play with us, Danny" and "All the dried goods and the-" brings out some slight resemblance of his normal, brighter style, cementing that is still his, even if it came from a mindset different than his other songs. Even if I'm wrong, the fact that all of that could be articulated into emotions so vividly and clearly, shows that Pogo is a true artistic genius.

I was thinking windowlicker, or come to daddy but without the distortion. To really be Aphex twin, all that percussion needs some saturation and clipping and the voices need highpassed and distorted with fuzz. then it'd be some proper aphex twin.

It's not like any of his other songs at all, refrains from using the most famous lines of the movie, and manages to capture the same creepy but mystical vibe of the movie. *If a man draws 100 perfect triangles and only 1 perfect cube, that cube will hold more value than all those triangle combined....* Or something, paraphrasing very badly.

When I go back, I'll find stuff in like, Whisperlude I've never heard before ! I really think Stanley Kubrick would appreciate what you did here Nick. It's structured so well, makes great use of the movies' sound to immediately set the tone, and carries this eerie tone throughout while sounding so relaxing and satisfying. I hate Stephen King. I don't even like Kubrik that much. But this is a shining masterpiece of horror. (Only afterwards realized the pun.) Loved it since the first time I saw it, and I'm not a fan of horror movies either. And this song is the same. Pogo could probably make any movie into a hit song, but he makes it into a dark trance masterpiece that fits the movie. Newly a fan, almost begrudgingly, but still respect this tune a lot.

The most impressive thing is that he doesn't use the iconic "Here's Johnny!" scene. Usually you would expect that out of a remix, combine recognizable scenes into a cobbled piece of art. With Pogo, however, he uses an assortment of scenes that I do not recall at all. But now I will. Bravo :3

I don’t know how a track can be so dark yet uplifting, simple yet intricate, old vibe yet new elements, it’s got ‘80s chords and trance progressions in it, absolutely mind f***ing blown…this isn’t talent, this is a supernatural gift…he hears things that 99% of the population could never reconstruct… absolutely freaking amazing! God Speed POGO🙏🏻🙌🏻✌🏻🤯

This track really takes your music to another level. I appreciate that you continue to try new things, thinking outside the pop structure formula and taking us listeners on a journey with your music. I absolutely love your approach with this one. Just like the film itself, you start slowly building tension until the amazing, epic crescendo loop and then into final conclusion of the track. It feels like a complete musical experience that makes me want to listen again and again. Very well done!

It's been a while but worth the wait yet again. This is outrageously good- 2:45 when that beat kicks in and when the twins vocal enters, is yet another example of that moment of genius that you masterly entwine into your songs so often. Hairs standing on end. Well done Nick!

Doubtfire used to be my favorite of your videos, then it was Picard & Data, now it’s this masterpiece!
