Any chance that you could try to use Open Camera app just to enable 4K video recording on those phones? Seriously, what happened to Redmi Note series these days? We used to have 4K video recording on stock camera app starting from Redmi Note 7 till last year's Redmi Note 10 series (except the non-pro Redmi Note 9 due to G85 chipset) but this year's lineup is definitely a huge disappointment 😥. What's the point of chasing higher megapixels & more powerful chipsets when you can't even record in 4k and / or 60 fps videos on both front & rear cameras.

Last sentence of your review is key: "a bit of a downgrade with the previous generation" . So, not excited about this, I'll stick to my Note 10 Pro

10:25 - This annoying charging glitch keeps happening to my Mi 10T after the 12.5 MIUI update, where is charges then disconnects sequentially so I had to restart the phone every time to fix this. I was able to replicate the cause and found out that glitch comes up if your phone's RAM Memory is overworked and there are a lot bg apps running. And now it's happening on this phone. I really hope their developer teams keep there Shiitake mushrooms together and produce a very stable ROM to be very competitive.

What do you think about the Redmi Note 11S? It seems like the best compromise between these two.

may we know if either have full AOD, many xiomi fones have AOD which turns off after 10 seconds as mi 10 lite 5gne. full aod is needed so that a skype or missed call notification stays on until phone opened again and can be seen at a glance. Have you enabled aod and notify to lockscreen... did the alerts stay on? thx

Thanks for the review Chris. Always helpfull and you're my go-to for Xiaomi reviews. ;). Anyway, like I said in the previous video; the Note 11 series seems like a huge disappointment to me. I mean; huge downgrade in the camera department, buggy software and buggy charging. Maybe Xiaomi can fix the buggy software and charging (and that's *IF* Xiaomi will do that) and maybe the EIS can be fixed, but if the bad video (crippled 1080P video and no option for 4K video) is the result of the new Snapdragon's ISP, Xiaomi can't fix that and we'll never have the 4K option. I was hoping the Note 11 and Note 11 Pro would be great options for a low/mid-range phone, but it looks like it's not. I'll guess I'll have to look for the Poco F3 (the new F4 will take to long and probably to expensive) or the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Or something completely different like a Samsung or something...

Redmi Note 11S seems to be the best value among in the whole Note 11 series, SD695 is a good cheap (~SD750G), but problem is the irregularity of the specs and features on the Note 11 Pro 5G doesn't make any sense as it's the the most expensive model in the series. Redmi Note 11 is a pretty good value phone, but also has a processor downgrade SD678 is a better processor compare to SD680, yeah same thing with Redmi Note 11S it's a downgrade on the GPU on Helio G96 compared G95. Very confusing successors for the highly praised Note 10 series. At the price point of $349, I would be better off getting POCO F3 instead of Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, which it beats in majority of the departments

Chris, it would be so helpful to have some measure of how sensitive the antennae are. I have just had to return a new Samsung A23 5G as it couldn't get any signal in my house. My reception is quite weak (1 or 2 bars) but my refurbished 6 year old Huawei P9 lite and my wife's 4 year old iPhone 8 both get reception for making and receiving calls. I'm going to try a Redmi Note 11 having just watched this great review.

Realme will bully them this year. No software fixes, still that awful proximity sensor, same or even weaker chipsets (except RN 11 pro 5G), almost none upfrade in terms of camera...

@@CoffeeBlancaMLTv On the other hand, we couldnt expect huge upgrade, since we got huge one in terms of a screens and camera moving from Redmi Note 9 to Redmi Note 10 series. But still at least some performance leap should have been seen...We only got some charging speed upgrades on Pro models and sd 695 with 5G on 5g model, which honestly is ok, its 30% faster than sd 720 (but that cpu was ok at best, when RN9 was launched). OIS is something we should get at last with top model. I assume that Realme 9 Pro+ will be similary priced as RN11 Pro 5G, and it has OIS, better chip and probably better main sensor (this 1080mpix is good but overhyped). Not mention better software and proximity sensor...Im huge fan of MIUI look and feel, but its buggy as hell, and thing get worse and worse with each new iteration. Even worse move that they can make is to make Mi 12 Lite (we'll see that model or SE, for sure) without OIS again and weak 8mpix ultra wide cam like last year with mi 11 lite. And that phone will go head to head with A53....

Looking forward for a realme gt 2 pro review from you, why not even a comparison video between realme gt 2 and realme gt 2 pro

i will wait for next iteration of that redmi note series. they upgraded the panel and processor but the video quality is backward. I hope there is no overheating issue too with this early releases. next note series for sure will be a banger but not this current release. my redmi note 9 has 1080p30 eis and on-par with the video quality of that note 11 i will confidently say real talk. yes they can address those issue with a patch but i guess they are rushing the release just to dominate the market. one more they should minimize those chin its hideous. this is just my opinion but always your review is super great. have a good one.

Let us hope the poco f4 will provide something more tempting. A poco f3 with a bigger battery and better camera would work for me. Thanks for the review Chris.

Great comparison review thanks a lot ! Sadly for 349 US , we can get the Xiaomi mi 11t here or the Samsung A52S. No one will buy the 11 Pro 5G if they keep that price. It has to be at least 50/75 USD cheaper.

Yeah, the same price dilemma here in Malaysia. The Redmi Note 11 Pro 8/128 is too near the price of Mi 11T 8/128. The Mi 11T is only about $50 pricier and is clearly the better choice.

No one talks about the display issues. The 6.67 inch amoled that Xiaomi uses has green tint issues, contrast diffferences and weird black colour and shading issues in the UI specially where there are blured elements. Even on phones like Poco F3 and Mi 11x.

A mate just bought Mi 11T, and from what I can see the display is pretty good. But i have heard of the green tint issues in some Poco F3

I will not buy phone for year or so. . But I watch Chris's video to support him. We need small independent review who are honest and fair.

I'm not surprised they make faster and cheaper versions for the local Chinese market. Time to switch to the Realme phone.

Fast charging is really better or the best ib Realme phones I have 2019 phone which charges from. 0 to 100 in 65 minutes 18W it its. So i expect theri 2022 67w would do it in 30 mins as they say

Which one should I go for? Samsung's M32 or Note 11?

Ordered a screen protector and a case for Redmi Note 11, and both are too big. After seeing this video it's become clear that vendors seem to throw these two differently sized models together as one and thus finding accessories that fit one or the other will always be hit or miss. While the slightly oversized screen protector can probably stay on, the Pro 5G's case will not work for the Note 11 as the phone will simply fall right out.

Its crazy i have my Realme X for 3 years now, 6 GB version got it for 143 euro new, and 3 years later the redmi note series are still not a worthy upgrade to it

To note, i think it went from SD732 to SD695 because 732 have no direct successor yet. And dimensity have supply issues Rumor so far redmi note 12 will be back with direct successor of 732

You need to talk about always on display in your reviews.. Is it good? Is really always on display or only works for 10 seconds? Does this cause problems to missing notifications? Whit this in your reviews I would not have bought my Redmi note 10pro

When you review the displays you write on screen that last gen model was 60hz. Not true, Redmi Note 10 Pro has 120hz display. Actually watching this review I come to the conclusion that last year model was overall better, with the Snapdragon 732G. Great review as always, will you make a comparison with the 10 models?

It's knows as Mi 11i in India which comes with dimensity 920.

I think the software bug is probably due to MIUI 13..that supposedly designed to work best on Android 12..running it with Android 11 makes it buggy overall..i wonder why Xiaomi launching new models with improper MIUI 13 rather than just stick it to MIUI 12.5 enchance..maybe for marketing gimmick?

I hope you do a Note 11 Pro 5g vs Pro 4g and Note Pro 4g vs Note 11S.

Too many compromises this year, I reckon. I guess Qualcomm didn't deliver. Hopefully Mediatek will light a fire under their asses and we will get competitive products like the great Snapdragon 650 which made the Redmi Note 3 Pro such an epic phone (personally sold hundreds of these and every customer who used it in front of me was super impressed with the speed and quality, after they were used to those nasty Samsung phones of similar pricing).

Why is it Qualcomm's fault? Xiaomi can choose what chipset goes in there. D920 is unavailable? D820 is still a better alternative compared to SD695. Hell, even SD750 is better than SD695, Xiaomi chose what chipset came with the Note 11, don't blame Qualcomm for this.

It all depends on pricing and supply issues - which is doubly the case when dealing with a low margin super high volume device like the Redmi Note. If Qualcomm will not commit to supply millions of older but better chipsets than Xiaomi is stuck with what they can get. Also, this very competitive market segment means that they always need a good selling point with a seemingly large number - more cameras, more mega pixels, faster screen refresh rate, etc. So they settle on the chipset available that can support this feature, even when the rest of the chipset is actually slower than the one that came before but didn't support it.

@@Mrdardas99Fairly certain that SD750G, D800U and D900is something that's gonna get out of stock soon, especially when no one is using the first two I mentioned. What I think however is they *really* tried to get SD695 because not only the camera limitations make this cheaper(it's literally an SD480 in 6nm), but it's in 6nm, so big buzz word to market to people. It's hard to take supply chain problems as an excuse when other brands managed to do fine with their releases.

Yes supply issues are a thing but even if there were no issues, if Xiaomi can cheap out on a chip and plaster 6nm on the box without consequences, they will do it. It's you who should learn better.

I had bought the redmi note 10s and it had the charging issue you mentioned. If i remember correctly if disable turbo charge then it doesnt do that. But i thought my unit had that issur but i think thats software bug that xiaomi didnt fixed till date. BTW i returned my redmi note 10s

Now is the time of the year where companies are putting out their 2022 new phones. Hard to keep up with all the announcements!!. However, it's about time that I get a new phone and upgrade my old Redmi 6 (yes very old!). But I have no clue what to get next.
